I read on a forum, I think it was DVDManics, that they were. They posted some links for DVDs on Amazon and they were going for upwards of $60-$70. I checked through work and we show the titles as still in print but on back order, which is never good.

No wonder...a local shop discounted their used DVDs...as low as $4.99 each. I'd better jump on that Killer Queen set (Gaaah!!!)

It is a shame (no pun intended) if they are really closing down, as they've released some truly great discs.

Because of this, I bought two of their films (The Strange Vice Of Mrs. Wardh & The Case Of The Scorpion's Tail). I figured I better get 'em now.

It really is a shame, but it's of no fault of their own. Right now there's just a glut on DVD titles in the marketplace and there's no way anybody (even online retailers) can keep up with them all. That combined with a recession in the US (I don't care what kind of spin people are putting on the numbers, we ARE in a recession!) and there's really no hope for the indies at the moment.

I believe it was Don May Jr. who confirmed on DVD Maniacs that NoShame was indeed closing its US shop, the original Italian branch is going strong though. Too much of a good thing I guess? PanikHouse is gone as well, although CasaNegra may not be as dead as originally reported.

I picked up all of NoShame's horror and dramas I knew I wanted from the start, I didn't own any crime movies though so I've been catching up on those. I'm holding out hope that they'll regroup and try again.

Aw, and I just now started getting into PanikHouse. Does any one have an informal list of the "essential" titles from these labels? I'd like to seek out the worthy ones before they go OOP and are going for ridiculous prices on eBay.

Haha. The other night, I was able to buy two of our NoShame rentals (Strange Vice Of Mrs. Wardh & The Case Of The Scorpion's Tail) but I wanted to know what else to seek out.

They've been gone a while now, but I guess the website just died recently. Door into Darkness got cancelled long ago sadly.

I knew they had been gone for awhile, but this seems to be the official nail in the coffin.

Prior to this there was some small hope that something was possible. Unforunetly that no longer exists.
