A few years late to the party, but DVDBeaver just reviewed the Redemption Blu-ray of Zombie Lake: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film6/blu-ray_reviews_75/zombie_lake_blu-ray.htm

And even more surprising, Gary Tooze of all people seemed to enjoy it a helluva lot!

I use to think Gary Tooze was "too good" for a lot of this genre stuff, but he seems to have come around these last few years. Truth be told a lot of his bread and butter is comparing transfers for genre fans, so I'm sure he was mostly acquiescing, but he always seemed to knock the movies themselves. Now he's giving them some complements. I guess he's seen enough trash now that he can see those diamonds in the rough as we see them.

Zombie Lake was a childhood favorite notably for one reason only, to quote Booger from Revenge of the Nerds; 'We've got bush, we've got bush!!'

strange that he endorses this film, because no matter the quality, the end product is a turd
