Watched any found footage lately? Report your sightings here.

Just done watching The Black Water Vampire (2014) and experienced major deja-vus. It's basically The Blair Witch Project with a little The Last Exorcism thrown in for whatever reason. The lack of originality made this a tough watch however, the ending was a hoot so I was mildly entertained. I'll rate this 2.5/5

About a week ago, I revisited My Little Eye. Hadn't seen it since back when it was released.

So refreshing to watch a "found-footage" film that isn't just an excuse to be cheap. They were really creative and playful with the camera angles here. The movie definitely got under my skin, but I was watching it alone in the middle of the night during a snowstorm. The atmosphere pretty much matched the screen.

I had forgotten that Bradley Cooper was in this, but last time I saw it was probably before he was famous.

From the director of The Devil Inside (2012) comes Wer (2013).

The best found footage I've seen is by far and without a doubt the WNUF Halloween Special. It's distributed by Camp Motion Pictures and I'm pretty sure it's an exclusive to alternativecinema.com. The attention to detail in this thing is staggering. If you didn't know better, you'd swear it is exactly what it says it is. It's best to just go into it knowing as little as possible about it and just enjoy. This is the way found footage should be done. I can't recommend this one enough.

Dean Alioto made a couple of alien found footage movies:

    UFO Abduction
    Alien Abduction

UFO Abduction became rather notorious for awhile since it was shown at a UFO convention and declared by a General there as real.

I've only seen UFO Abduction, a long time ago, and it was rather good. Apparently the master tape for this is lost. I'd like to see his remake, the follow up Alien Abduction.

I remember seeing that on YouTube years ago. It was actually kind of creepy. I think the first one was much better than the second. The second one is still on YouTube, but the first one is nowhere to be found. Anyone know where to see the original one? I'd love to have a copy of that.

This was a surprisingly awesome film. It starts off as a drama, and progressively gets stranger and stranger with found footage playing an integral role. It reminded me somewhat of a mix between Sinister and Enter Nowhere.

Chris LaMartina wrote/directed it, and all of his other films have been great.

I still need to check this one out though, so thanks for the reminder!

I've seen nothing but glowing reviews for this all over the net, which surprised me. I watched it on NetFlix last fall and it bored me to tears.

I watched the recently released A Night In The Woods last night, a tedious Blair Witch rip-off. 75 minutes of three people running around the woods. No plot, no scares, nothing. An absolute chore to sit through.

Hey, at least it lives up to its title. How many movies can say that? That's gotta be like 1/10 right there.

Unidentified - Over an hour of four people bantering about nothing, followed by maybe 10 minutes of genre-related material. And the genre stuff wasn't even good. Not worth it.

I watched The Conspiracy tonight, which was just released on DVD.

I thought it was terrific! One of the best found-footage films I have seen in quite some time. If you want to see found-footage done right, don't miss this one. I'm shocked there isn't more buzz about it.

I finally watched Frankenstein's Army, which is a retro-found footage flick. Enjoyed it quite a bit.
Also gave Apartment 143 a spin today. It's very Paranormal Activity but with a twist. I thought it was decent.

I started watching that a couple of weeks ago but I was dozing off. Gonna give it another week or two to clear it out of my mind, and start again from the beginning. I did like the way it was going, although I kinda wish it had been done as just a straight narrative instead of found footage.
