I'm not that against the found footage idea as sone nay be. I mean I watch shit like Paranormal Activity thinking I was Jason would pop up and just kill these mofos :p

I really don't like the idea that it's not a sequel to the remake, tbh I don't see the point in doing a solo film. Why not a sequel? Also they need to get Derek Mears back.

I've always had an idea fir the sequel where the girl who killed Mrs Voorhees returns to the Camp from the reboot but played by Melissa George (I thought the girl looked like her). While she returns just for some clarity etc the camp is also re-opening and Jason don't like that. So and and so forth.

A found footage Jason movie would be a terrible use of the character. And I don't even hate found footage movies.

Yeah, also like someone said how would it even work? He can't keep killing the person holding the camera. So how would they do it multiple cameras?

This is the proper anger reaction to the news.

It's because those are the only ones produced by Paramount although the reboot was a co production with New Line/WBs.

Yeah, I know. It's just strange to see the Paramount Friday's with the remake alone (and not having the other three WB/New Line films).

Oh and there I was thinking I was clever ha ha

I guess maybe Paramount don't have to share profit on that box set maybe? Tbh I just wish they'd give us 2 and 7 uncut.

A 2 and 7 uncut will probably never happen. Footage for part 2 doesn't even seem to exist. Then again, MBV footage surfaced years later, so who knows.

However, usable footage does exist for 6 & 8.

8's footage looks really good, so those could easily be released in extended versions.

Well it'd be good if they checked the archives to see. Parts 6 & 8 uncut would be great too but like I said before even the Part VII uncut footage they have isn't amazing I'm sure they could clean it up somewhat and sort it out.

All that exists of 7 is a generated VHS workprint. Easier said than done to fix it up. But Shout is doing this for Nightbreed, so we'll see how that turns out. If it can be done there, I guess it could be done for F7, though I'm not expecting miracles.

As for 2, I'm sure they looked in the archives when assembling materials for the Deluxe editions. I think we all just need to realize that somethings are just lost to time.

Well tbh I remember seeing someone clean it up and put it on youtube and it looked fine. The My Bloody Valentine uncut stuff looks a bit dodgy but its watchable and I'd rather see the full effect of it than seeing a cut version. Although if they did do a Part VII uncut I'd like them to leave the sleeping bag death as it is.

Of course they can't find everything, its such a shame they didn't know back then that these films would ever be released uncut.

I forget which sequel it was, but somewhere in the Crystal Lake Memories documentary I recall them showing paperwork from Paramount ordering the footage to be destroyed. It even had a date on it to show when the footage was destroyed. I think it might have been part 2, but it could have been VII.

    Anyone remember?

I believe Paramount gave them full access to the vaults when they were preparing the deluxe editions of 4 - 8 (the extras were prepared by the same guys who did this documentary).
