It makes me sad when people still put 3 last on their list lol. But with that bug scene in the original I kind of wonder if some minor touch up work was done to it like the sphere scene because I do feel it looked worse on the DVD but maybe my mind's just playing tricks on me. Whatever the case it doesn't bother me like it used to which is great!
Like I said, I don't dislike it - just certain elements of it (the Home Alone bit and the goofy goons). It just doesn't have anything to really put it ahead of the rest for me.
Yeah that's fair enough. To each their own. I do find it funny that the bits you don't like are part of why I find it so enjoyable
If anyone missed out on WellGo's now OOP blu-ray collection and aren't willing to pay the super high prices, WalMart has a DVD collection for $14.96. Looked like it had extras too. Fortunately, I got the blu-ray collection, but for that price it's not a bad alternative for those who missed out. Like $3 per movie.
That's a pretty good price for the DVD collection. I'm pretty sure the Arrow Bluray box set is still available for those that want it on blu. I highly recommend it but I'm not sure if they were region free or not.
Damn. Well if you can play region B I still highly recommend it. I've mentioned it before but my only complaint is how big the set is and to a lesser extent the cardboard cases (though they look stunning).
Jesus. If you're not region-free, now might be the time. Amazon UK is selling the Arrow Phantasm set for 35.99 British pounds. It's an exclusive Prime member deal, but I'm guessing you can start a free Prime trial (US prime memberships don't apply to Amazon UK). If not, you'd need to pay for a month of Prime, but this would still an amazing deal. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Phantasm-1-5-Blu-ray/dp/B01MZ9OZQ9 Act fast. I can't imagine this deal lasting very long.
WellGo is issuing a new collection set, this time with a 4K remaster of II. Why not just do it right the first time?
Yeah, I already started a new thread on it to damper any possible confusion with the old set. I don't think they had the rights to do a new transfer for Phantasm II before, and they never re-released the entire set, so it doesn't really come as any surprise. I would have thought maybe they'd include a 4K UHD of the first film, but that apparently is not the case unless the specs change.
