Wow, this looks pretty awesome. I'm getting vibes of SPM and Killing Spree. :p

The trailer is a bit crude, and the music took me right out of it. The poster is kind of neat as an 80's pastiche. Unfortunately, some of these pastiches of 80's horror movies have been pretty crappy. I'm looking at you, The Sleeper.

And The Sleeper looks back at you and whispers in your ear "hush child" ;)

You're speaking to the schlock king.

When the sleeper first came out I had a watch party for it and the crowd loved it. I have met plenty of people of the years who strongly loved it AND hated it. But this slasher fan thought it was a fun throw back.

I like schlock as well. I like low-budget horror, and it doesn't have to be glossy. But The Sleeper just didn't cut it for me. From the stilted dance scene to the lack of scares, it didn't so much feel like a lost and rediscovered slasher so much as a technically inferior parody. I just wasn't into it, and I can usually find something to enjoy in most slashers. But to each his own.

I agree, I hated The Sleeper. I just couldn't get into it and found myself skipping through bits to see if it was actually going to get good.

I really dig the poster for this. It looks super retro. I actually thought this was some old film at first. The trailer was pretty average though. Not sure what to expect. If it's stupid low budget fun like Dude Bro Party Massacre 3 then I'm in. Will likely wait to se what others think first.

I wasn't doubting your lack of love for the schlock. I meant I love films people usually turn their noses up at. The Sleeper was my cup of tea. It wasn't yours. All perfectly fine.

I'm with MisterTwister, The Sleeper rules. Easily the only throwback indie horror flick of the last 15 years I could actually stand and re-visit.

Good idea but it would probably be better at night. The freaks come out at night.

I found the film enjoyable, but not great. There's not really much to mention about the story or plot, as it's pretty basic and formulaic. The Las Vegas mansion they filmed it in looks friggin' amazing though...we're talking a multi-million dollar abode. If nothing else, the film has eye candy.

Most of the characters are pretty annoying, and some of the comedy is very Troma-esque at times. And for some reason, the fake blood in the film often looked more like barbeque sauce. o_O

The opening credits of the film were pretty neat though, done in an 8-bit NES style... but that is pretty much about where any "retro" feel of the movie ends... although the catchy end title song will definitely stick in your head.

The Blu-ray itself is an actual pressed disc. MPEG-2 encode and lossy Dolby audio...but it still looked amazingly good in 1080p with a solid bit-rate. Optional English subtitles are included. You have to laugh when the 2nd commentary track on the back cover states "Directors Commentary with Drew Marvick and his Mom" (Son, explain to me what a vinegar stroke is...)

So, if you like corny low-budget Slashers you'll probably enjoy the 80 minutes that the film runs at. If you're looking for some 80's retro flashback like The Sleeper, then you'll probably want to look elsewhere.

I only had minor interest in watching this. No longer the case. Definitely going to pass on this one.

Yeah, the artwork is better than the actual movie.

I don't regret buying it... it's just not really a hidden gem or anything. I think it would have been a lot better if the film took place at night, and had a better script. Basically the entire film happens during daylight hours.

I picked this up at a horror convention a few months back. I spoke to one of the filmmakers for a few minutes. He kept telling me if I loved cheap '80s slashers that I'd love this. A TV was playing all the (admittedly cool looking) gory death scenes.

Unfortunately, he duped me (hey, I don't blame him.) The movie sucks badly. Not even in a fun "The Last Slumber Party" type way either.

That is a great poster, but that trailer, yikes. I get low budget, there are some great low budget films out there... but this looks like something a bunch of drunk friends filmed on their iphones over the weekend.
