Diabolik is processing my order as I type this...
It shows on MyUSPS that Synapse printed a shipping label to my address, so Popcorn should be coming shortly if you pre-ordered direct.
It's going to be a good week!
Nothing yet from UPS on my end. I have the same alerts.
Edit: ***** My mistake, I thought it was UPS. I don't have alerts for USPS.
Hoping it ships USPS. Wasn't expecting it until March. Won't be home for another week, so would rather it wait at the post office rather than on my doorstep.
Mine should be here Wednesday/Thursday direct from Synapse according to the tracking #. So it's Popcorn this weekend!
how is the Stock level of POPCORN will it sell out?
Curious myself. Don does post when they run low. At these prices, I don't think any will ever be an immediate sell out.
I received Popcorn earlier, and the Steelbook looks pretty awesome. Overpriced, but awesome.
I popped in the old Elite DVD last night just to recall how subpar it was... and this new transfer is a revelation compared to that. This looks much, much more like how I remember the film when I caught it in a theater back in '91.
Now, to check out the documentary and other features later!
gonna order mine next month I too have it on vhs and dvd I am sure it wont sell out
Nah, it won't sell out any time soon at that price. If Phenomena hasn't even sold out by now, this one will be around for quite awhile.
Mine's coming tomorrow.
Thanks for the comment Kat. Seriously you are one of my fave people here and I trust your word on anything.
Just got home, nice surprise waiting for me at my doorstep. Packaged secure, really nice looking steelbook. My first time ordering directly from Synapse. Obviously haven't played the blu-ray yet, but nice job!
You're not kidding.
And that's a shame. There's nothing wrong with either this film or Synapse that a home video edition's price tag should effect in the least. But Synapse wants to keep something going for longer than I think they can. They struck gold with Argento because he's one of the all-time greats of the entire genre. Popcorn is B-material. Only elevatable to the kind of status Synapse is trying for because of its rocky history on DVD. Now the consumer is paying that price when it really isn't their fault. This isn't like Paramount and Friday the 13th, where the films begin to receive sharper and better digital upgrades because people are willing to keep buying them over and over again.
For those who received Popcorn, did it ship UPS or USPS?
I never received a shipping notice.
Synapse never sends out shipping notices. If you have a "My USPS" account, the tracking # will show up there if a package gets shipped to your address.
I'm out of town and didn't want mine sitting on the porch for a week. My mail is on hold, but UPS still delivers.
Random opinion, but I've always felt Jill Schoelen was more of a fun casting than a credible dramatic one. She never plays it but she has a very distinct surfer type vibe that I wish she'd been able to expand on just once in something I'd actually seen her in. She tried to be more the A-student, virtuous, cleancut, suburban ingenue. Surprisingly, she had too much personality for that. (Of course, writers are as much to blame for rarely making the lead female role any more than filler-characterization.)
Got it today!
