Halloween is my favorite flick of all time, so I'm up for what I guess would be the septuple dip? It's the first film I've bought on every format so far and I still have every one of them.

I'm so gonna buy this!!! Let's just hope all the extras (and the original Mono mix) are ported over so I can get rid of my old Blu-ray release.

I only paid $5 for the last Blu-Ray, so what the hell...

    I'm down.

I really hope some of the lost footage that was discovered 5 years back makes it on there.

Hear, hear! I'm with you there. I guess the big question regarding the transfer will be the colour timing issue. Guess we'll have to wait and see....:nervous:

I hope so, but I guess Don May will still be the one to know about that.

Don't care that I own the current Blu-Ray. I will double dip for the 35th. I'm way down for it.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like it will be.

    From Bluray.com,

"Mr. Kirkus just replied to me and stated Trancas isn't interested in the extra footage he has and he and Don May Jr. worked on, so it will not be in the new release."

I wouldn't be surprised if the team that did Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy and the upcoming Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th do a new 7 hour Halloween doc. and include the footage there. It really is our only hope!

As for this release, all I want are the colours to be fixed, the TV cut, all the extras including those missing from the last Bluray release, and maybe some new extras, which it looks like we will at the least be getting a new commentary! Either way, this is one of my favourite films of all time and I have held off grabbing the last Bluray waiting for this so hopefully it delivers! Now where is the Dawn Ultimate Edition and Phantasm series Anchor Bay!

Speaking of which, the last Anchor Bay Phantasm discs came out 6 years ago. How much longer do they retain the rights for? It'd be nice if they'd revert back to Coscarelli so he could then license them to Scream Factory. Anchor Bay nowadays is worthless for anything other than modern DTV horror.

The TV version? Who knows. Even if they just recycled the SD 16x9 transfer of that from the '99 DVD release, it would be a nice addition.

I actually bought that DVD and put it in a 2-disc blu-ray case so it would be like SF's Halloween II.

I would be down with a new release - I just wished I had Carpenter, Loomis and Soles sign that future blu-ray cover.

That's the problem w/ getting cover art signed, you have to hold onto it when the new edition shows up.
