I got the release and unfortunately, they speak the truth. I watched the scene where Loomis and Marion are driving to Smith's Grove and the additional lighting sound effect added for the 5.1 mix where Loomis says "Never, never, never." is there. :(

I guess another reason to keep the original Blu.

He says the he got an early copy because he´s freelance.

He also confirms that the Tv scenes are present as extras.

Lol the commentary on this is great. Curtis is really knowledgeable about the details of the shoot (lol and she shits her pants at every scare).

I notified Anchor Bay on Facebook regarding on the Mono mix on the 35th AE and suggested they look into this and do a replacement program.

I suggest you should do the same.

    Amen to that.

This is a very lazy review in general--and indicative of the aversion to research that most online reviewers demonstrate. With this disc offering vastly different color timing compared to both the 1999 THX DVD and the prior Blu release you think he'd at least mention the controversy and the differences. But after seeing reviewers universally praising the surround track on the Jaws Blu-ray (despite the continued presence of the same woefully replaced sound effects) I've come to expect this kind of thing.

Thanks to those of you who've posted your impressions of this disc here. Straight talk is hard to find online.

I'd really be amazed if they even acknowledge the issue...let alone do a replacement.

I'll definitely pick this up eventually, for the commentary and new transfer, but will probably hold onto my Blu as well as the my old 2-disc Anchor Bay DVD with the television cut. I hate that I am going to buy this for the sixth time, but oh well.

Only my second time buying the film. I have the old 2 disc DVD which I will always hold onto because it is awesome and has the TV cut and I didn't buy the first Blu-Ray because of all the bullshit. This seems to be the transfer it deserves!

Best Buy had two copies of Halloween 35th Anniversary blu-ray. I'm looking forward to seeing how it's packaged in the UK steelbook edition as the US release does not have a disc tray but rather a sleeve that will scratch the disc.

All of the "facts" that have been presented in that blu-ray.com thread should be taken with a heavy grain of salt. The guy that concluded the mono mix on the latest Blu-Ray was in fact the original theatrical mono mix later admitted that he came to that conclusion after downloading and watching a rip of a 1982, German-dubbed VHS. He also determined that the color timing of the 35th Anniversary Edition was "accurate" based on the following screencapture from said VHS.

I'm still gonna wait for the dust to settle on this debate, as I've heard every possible fucking thing about this is the original Mix. Now some say the old DVD isn't original, the first blu isn't, nor is the laserdisc or even pre-1985 VHS copies! It's a fucking joke is what it is with all the information and mis-information out there. I can't even check intop that blu-ray dot com thread anymore as it's just become a bitchfest mixed with memory competition.

Yeah, the blu-ray.com board is a fucking joke. It's like a classroom full of second graders. Anyway, does anyone here know which, if any, home video release(s) unquestionably contain the original mono mix? I have literally every US release on home video dating back to the Media VHS, so other than comparing the new blu-ray's mono mix to the original 35mm print, is there any other definitive source to compare it to?
