I wouldn't doubt that. The Echo Bridge DVD is simply a PAL-to-NTSC transfer, and has some minor digital artifacts at a few points in the film.

That's "Mr. Dingleberry" to you.

I contacted their info line, they said they'd get back to me shortly with all the aspect ratios.
Obviously the first two PROM NIGHT's had a theatrical run and should be formatted to 1:85.I have yet to find any info that states that part 3 ever played theatrically. Some online source do say that 4 played in a small theatrical run though. My guess is that pts. 3 and 4 have always been open matte on video.Anyway, when they respond with the specs I'll post them.

Prom Night 3 and Prom Night 4 both played theatrically in Canada. I have old episodes of Married with Children taped on VHS from their original airings on the Global network and they have tv spots for Prom Night 3 playing in theaters. I also clearly remember CHCH Network (bizarrely located in Hamilton) airing spots from Prom Night 4 playing in theaters.

Just received this collection from Australia and I can confirm what the user "Erick H" said. The first "Prom Night" is 16/9 enhanced and the other 3 are full frame.

The first "Prom Night" is the same print as the previous Australian edition and all of them are uncut.

I noticed that before the menu, one of the logos that are on screen is from Echo Bridge. That´s strange because the print of the first movie is better than the print of Echo Bridge. Maybe they will plan to release a similar collection in the US with these prints.

That's not possible since Prom Night 2 is owned by MGM and Prom Night 3 and 4 are owned by Lionsgate. Incidentally, should the first film be re-released, I'd nominate Code Red since they can do a better job with this.

I only said "maybe" because the Echo Bridge logo appears after the Alliance logo and before the main menu.

Maybe it was some sort of mistake because I can only see Echo Bridge involved in this release as a sort of rights holder of the first movie because print wise... the first movie is the same of the previous edition and still miles ahead of the Echo Bridge release.

But how does it stack up to the one I have which is the Anchor Bay release?

The Echo Bridge is vastly superior to the Anchor Bay release.
Here on Horror Digital you have a review from the Echo Bridge release that has comparison screens to the Anchor Bay release:

Still, the Australian version is superior than the Echo Bridge one.

Here is the picture comparison between the Echo Bridge version and the Australian version "Prom Night: The Complete Collection".

Be aware that all screen grabs of the Echo Bridge version were taken from the review posted on this site. Some grabs don´t match 100% but you can still get an idea...
