Hm. The it's nice to have a choice - I guess I'll buy whichever of the UK or US release has the better picture.

I'm looking forward to the Basket Case trilogy as well - I don't have those yet.

 True. With Anchor Bay we wouldn't have gotten all the extras, but with Image the transfer is more likely to suck.

$9.98? That confirms that this will continue the suckiness. No choice now but to import this from the motherland.

That's for the dvd. The blu-ray is $12.58 , but I see your point. Seems a little cheap.

We´re talking blu-ray here... your sentence shouldn´t even be used when talking DVD.

Let's not give up hope yet. Price doesn't always indicate quality. The Lionsgate Evil Dead II release was a huge improvement at a modest price point. I'm still crossing my fingers this will be the definitive release of Re-Animator.

With 3 prior versions already on the shelf here I don't have room for many more.

Yes, hopefully it is. But Image's previous quality of these Lakeshore licensed titles on Blu-ray has been anything but promising.

Image can release good Blu-rays, so hopefully they'll get their shit together on this one.

I'm actually looking at it as if it's $12.58 now, it'll probably go down to $9.99 or lower eventually :)

Amen! This is a landmark title. Let's hope they realize that and devote the appropriate amount of time, money, and energy. It's bad enough to see lousy releases of mediocre films. But this one is too good for a less-than-stellar release--especially after such a long wait. C'mon Image.

Interesting that Stuart Gordon didn't supervise the transfer.

Well, it certainly sounds like a winner if the transfer is done well. I'm in.

Rumor is that this is only the R rated cut.

That seems extraordinarily unlikely. I don't think the R rated version has been released alone on home video since laserdisc.

And if it was the R-rated version it wouldn't make sense to include deleted and extended scenes as extras. Probably just a typo.
