What did you guys think of this one? It's been a while since I've seen it, but I remember really enjoying it. Not as good as the original or the third, but still enjoyable. I remember one part that I really loved - someone sticks a screwdriver into a zombie's head, and the head yells "get that damn screwdriver out of my head". Well, it was something like that.

To be honest, I liked 2 better than 3. I still really dig 3 & own a copy, but I felt 2 was more in the fun spirit of the original. Remember the Michael Jackson "Thriller" zombie at the end? [IMG] (that was in ROTLD2, wasn't it?)

    It's an absolute disgrace! [IMG]
Being a rabid fan of the first one, this one went too far into lame comedy antics. The first one had a terrific balance of comedy and horror.

Most hated scene: zombie aerobics. (UGH!!!)

  4. The Zombie aerobics is a very stupid idea. It's an okay edition, but they could have been a bit more serious about it. Spicey brains? Uhh? No thanks for that one. It was stupid for the simple fact that it has the noble name and uses it badly, but worth a watch.

Personally, I don't think it's as bad as what some people say it is. It's not as good as the first one or the third one, but it does have its moments.

I agree with Mark, this unfunny and lame film is a disgrace to the original! The comedy was so overtly stupid that it was not at all humorous. Dead-Alive is the definitive zombie comedy in my opinion. I think the original ROTLD has some funny parts, but I think of it as a pretty serious zombie film. ROTLD 3 was a good film, but part 2 was pitiful.

I know this isn't the most popular film amongst you ladies and gentlemen, however I am quite fond of it (childhood memories and all that). I emailed an executive at Warner about it today and was told that they are in fact aware of the popularity of the film and intend to release it on blu-ray with the correct soundtrack in the future. He was unable to provide any further specifics.

No problem. I really had my doubts about this one. After I received the reply I thought to myself, that's the film I get in touch with a Warner executive to ask about? :p He was really great though. I'm quite pleased.

It's my least favorite of the three but there is a gaping hole between parts 1 and 3 on Blu that needs to be filled on my shelf.

The only time I've seen the film was in the theater. Never picked it up on DVD so a blu would be most welcome.

Love Part 2. Can't wait for it to come out. Fingers crossed it is minus the newer Casio keyboard kind of soundtrack.

ROTLD2 is available to purchase HD on Amazon. Someone took that source and put the original sound in from a foreign DVD or something. That bootleg is floating around. But yeah, I would prefer an actual bluray for sure.

I saw it in the theater and remember enjoying it. Subsequent viewings in the years since haven't fared as well though. It's like a lame remake with some very hit and miss humor. I'll pass on a blu-ray but good news for you fans.

I first saw it via Pay Per View in 1987 (maybe 1988). The film's mood was just right for this young buck at the time. I love the effects, the cemetery scene (with the correct music) and the overall bleakness that made the original so memorable.

Not sure we are taking about the same bootlegs but I bought one in a Facebook group for 10 bucks, it has disk art and full cover art. The commentary track and original audio are ported over it will due till a blu eventually arrives.
