What is this? Is it real? I am confused. http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3349227/michael-myers-resurrected-halloween-returns/ Hmmmmmm
So, a reboot then? Can't there just be a Halloween, F13 and Nightmare on Elm Street film every few years where they are resurrected, go to their respective haunts and cause mayhem? No backstory, no reboot, just stand alone films. Just my two cents.
looking forward to this the guy directing did the collector and the collection which both were good can't wait.
I concur with this. I remember being excited as Hell when I was about sixteen to hear that Halloween IV was about to be released. It seemed like forever since Michael Myers had been relevant, whatever your opinion on the actual film as a tie-in to the franchise it was an extremely effective slasher film with an interesting narrative and story arc. I remember going with a bunch of high school classmates and everyone had a great time. I'd love for one of these films to surface every couple of years-no trendy shaky cam shit, no trying to re-imagine the central character as a lumbering psycho version of WWE's Undertaker, just a continuation of the series in the slasher vein so popular in the eighties.
As long as it's her ass that's featured we can only hope. She puts the 'Moon' in well, Moon.
STYD is reporting Returns will be a sequel to the original H2. http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news...rns-connected/
I feel sorry for all the folks who bought the Halloween "Complete" Collection and will now have to wait for the next "Complete" collection.
Makes sense. While many people love part 4 it's impossible to separate it from the rest in the convoluted Thorn Trilogy. Halloween has basically become the "Godzilla" of slasher films with the amount of sequels that either reboot or ignore every movie but the first.
That's pretty much why I hate box sets for film series that still have the potential of getting continued.
I'm up for a sequel to Halloween 2. Seems to be the trend with these franchises, do a remake to an earlier film. Why not? I'd like to see the other franchises follow this route. There are so many storylines, just make movies you want to make and ignore what you want. Toho has done this with Godzilla (starting back in 1999).
I would assume no because H20 continues with the next film (cop in Mike's outfit/Jaime Lee in the nuthouse). It's easier to just wash their hands with 3-8.
I think the best way to go about the Halloween series is to do what I think Carpenter or someone said about Halloween 3. Have it called Halloween but just make a really good spooky and scary horror movie. Let the original stay a one off movie. Another reboot or so so sequel to Halloween just isn't a good idea. None of sequels with Myers are as good as the original anyway. At the end of Halloween he became a boogeyman. This new Halloween story reminds me of the opening to Jason X. Which was funny and the movie was entertaining. But still do we really want to see that sort of captured and escaped setup for Myers?
I'm pretty sure that we all knew that the set wasn't the last word from the series. I already supplemented my set with the theatrical RZ versions and the stand-alone of HALLOWEEN II (just because of the TERROR IN THE AISLES bonus); I have no qualms adding this more installments down the line.
