A family of 3 (an attorney, his depressed wife, and their lonely male child) face strange acts after they fire their elderly housekeeper. Seems the old bitch left them a William Dafoe looking doll to deal death for her untimely firing. Just watched this for the first time. Another one of those based on true events/urban legend flicks, but this time it centers around a creepy William DaFoe looking doll. Minimal special fx of the doll, just shows it's feet moving. The film has nice atmosphere but they couldn't expand on it's nice setting. Undercooked, plays out very much like a made for television entry. Not as much a slow burn as most UK horror films of late are, but the enjoyment here is ultimately hurt because of the shadow of luminaries such as Chucky.
