Here's a couple of decent articles/interviews with McLean, Vartan, Jarratt and others.

For anyone who doesn't know of it, it's Greg 'Wolf Creek' McLean's next one, which he's been wanting to make for about 10 years apparently. It's about a man eating crocodile, and stars Michael Vartan (Alias), Radha Mitchell (Silent Hill), Sam Worthington (Somersault), John Jarratt (Wolf Creek), and Stephen Curry (The Castle). Supposedly the Weinsteins have given McLean a $20 million budget for it.

"McLean turns lake into NT for croc flick"
    http://www.vartanho.com/articles/rogue/vartanattracted.html

    This bit was amusing...

I'm glad he's going for the realism again. Was a bit skeptical about a man eating crocodile movie being any good when I first heard about it. But it's sounding a bit better after reading those articles.

There's an interview here which was a good read with a little bit about Rogue, Wolf Creek and other stuff.

    One part says:

I checked out Fuel's demo reel at their site here http://www.fuel-depot.com/ which doesn't look too bad.

McLean also says that all but one crocodile/alligator film are bad, which is a good sign ;)

I hope it won't be as bad as Wolf Creek.

Radha Mitchell says a bit about Rogue in this interview for Silent Hill...

Is the Rogue sneak peek on the Wolf Creek dvd?? I haven't seen it mentioned in any reviews. It's still listed on rottentomatoes though as being on there. It's not an easter egg, or on the rated version or something is it??

This has been put back from christmas to a Feb 2nd 2007 release
Don't know if that changes the Australian release or not.

I guess it's probably a good idea box office wise. Wolf Creek didn't do as well in the US being released on christmas day in comparison to the UK and Australia before christmas.

I enjoyed Wolf Creek, but I'm tired of killer croc movies.

Dammit! According to Bloody Disgusting, the Weinsteins have shelved this again until a "to be determined" date. I loved Wolf Creek and I'm a big fan of nature-run-amok films so I've been really looking forward to this one. Looks like I'm going to be waiting longer. :fuck:

Croc Set to Shock U.S. Screens

THERE is a rumour circulating that crocodile film Rogue is going straight to DVD in the US. Not all Australian films make it into US cinemas but it would be big news indeed if the legendary US distributors Bob and Harvey Weinstein regarded Rogue as not worth releasing in America given that they paid $30 million to get it made. Producer David Lightfoot says the rumours are rubbish and the film will be released either January 5 or January 12. But he is not surprised at the gossip. "People are always looking for a negative in big-budget (Australian) films," he says. "It is one of the biggest Australian films ever made and certain people would like to see it crash and burn ... It employed 450 people and everyone should be wishing it every success." Rogue attracted the support because of director Greg Mclean's very assured debut, the chilling Wolf Creek. Rogue, in local cinemas, has sold $1.6million worth of tickets since it opened on November 8. On these figures it will not come close to Wolf Creek's $6million gross but its global performance is what interests the Weinsteins. Wolf Creek pleased horror aficionados who like being scared half to death and it grossed $US16 million ($18.2 million) in North America and $US11million elsewhere. Rogue's style is old-fashioned in comparison.

Thanks for the update codex :)

After Black Water turned out to be a pleasant surprise I'm really looking forward to Rogue. What a great season for killer croc flicks!
