Germany released a blu-ray boxset called The Roland Emmerich Collection, including three of his earlier pre-Hollywood-blockbuster efforts:

    Moon 44 (1990)
Hollywood Monster (1987) (or Ghost Chase as it is known here)
Joey (1985) (or Making Contact as it is known here)

Joey and Moon 44 are also available separately.

Anyone know the details on this? How are the transfers? Extras? English audio / subtitles on Joey? Blu-ray.com says the set is Region A friendly.

Never seen Hollywood Monster / Ghost Chase, but it appears to be a Night Of The Creeps reunion with Jason Lively and Jill Whitlow.

    Anyone pick this up?

I actually have it...but really only bought it for Moon 44. Grabbed it for under $12 shipped last year.

Moon 44 is the only HD transfer in the set with English audio, and looks really good.

Hollywood Monster (aka Ghost Chase) and Joey (aka Making Contact) both only have "German" audio on the HD transfers. The "English" audio is only included for the shorter edited SD transfers (DVD quality) also included on the Blu-rays.

All 3 Blu-rays are region free.

    Oh, boo!

Thanks for the specs, Kat. Saved me a purchase.

The English version of Making Contact (Letterboxed!) almost looks like a VHS rip to me, plus forced subtitles if I'm not mistaken.
I also bought this set and it is one of the most disappointing ones that I own. If anything, it is only worth seeking out because of Moon 44.

I never actually even watched it, so you're probably right. I just popped the disc in and checked the specs when it arrived. I already have the R1 DVD's of Making Contact & Ghost Chase...which probably both look better anyway.

There's a comparison here between the Blu-ray and DVD of Moon 44. At least that one is pretty good...and I believe it's now available separately.
