RUMORED MGM Fall '05 Horror Line-Up

Discussion in 'General' started by WesReviews, Jun 14, 2005.

  1. That's it.

It features Pamela Seagal (the voice of Bobby Hill), Judie Aronson (from F13: The Final Chapter) and Marg Helgenberger (some CSI bullshit)

Well, this lineup just got a lot more disappointing. What other From a Whisper to a Scream is there? I just checked IMDB and their was no other. Hopefully Fango is somehow wrong. This sucks.

Released on video in the late 80's or early 90's by MCEG/Virgin. I remember watching this once. Some sort of slasher ... wasn't too shabby as I recall.

I'd rather have MGM put this out

but I guess that won't happen because it's an old IVE (Artisan/Lions Gate) release.

Odd. MGM is the distributor of the real From a Whisper to a Scream in Australia.

I figured they were just releasing the same title here. Hopefully Fangoria is just wrong.

i would reeeeeeeeeally like to see some extras on the Dolls disc. Some insight on the doll effects (although not very impressive) would be pretty interesting. anyone remember the inferior Dolly Dearest? that was a winner...

I've always really liked Dolly Dearest too, cheesy as hell. The import DVD isn't too shabby either...

Yep Fangoria is wrong. I found an MGM ad in a mag at work today. It's the one with Vincent Price.

Yes, what a HUGE relief! I knew there was only one film by that title, but Billy's post had me fearing they got it wrong. Panting a big sigh of relief now.

Does anyone know if The Howling II disc will be uncut?
The theatrical version was released as The Howling II:Your Sister Is A Werewolf (or it might have been My Sister Is A Werewolf), but, the uncut, or at least unrated version was released on video in the mid '90's from Republic Pictures as The Howling II:Stirba-Werewolf Bitch.
I know that version had a better picture quality than the old HBO/Thorn EMI video did, and it had extra gore. I'm sure the dvd will only have a trailer, but, if it's uncut, I might take it for it's cheap $10.00 or so pricetag.
    Thanks for any info!

Phew, indeed, what a relief. Then again I had my doubts that what Fangoria reported was true seeing how they were the only ones.

    Cool about Offspring...

As for The Howling II being uncut...the print that is constantly airing on Showtime bears the MGM logo...and contains footage that was not in the Thorn EMI/HBO releases...this includes an extra "6 months later" scene at the end of the movie that I had never seen before. As for what else is added, I cannot say if there is anything. I have it recorded on DVD-R but have never watched this version completely through.
