What the...?!? I thought it was going to be a parody of the genre, when I stumbled upon the trailer. But what first started as an April Fools joke, turned into a real movie, thanks to fan reactions.
For the country that always had their giant monster franchises battling one another, I'm surprised it took them this long.
I've been catching up on both franchises lately. I knew there was a Sadako 3D, but did not realize there was a sequel. Just got it in the mail recently. I believe there were several Ju-On movies released after that "White Ghost / Black Ghost" dvd as well (don't think those were released in the US, so importing here we go!).
For those of you wanting to see this it just showed up on Shudder. You can sign up for a 7-day free trial through that link, or if you have Amazon Prime you can just add the free trial to your account. It's only like $5 a month after that. Seems like they have some good stuff, though a lot of what they have is stuff I think a lot of people on a horror forum will have seen or already own.
Well, I can assure you Sadako vs. Kayako is not one of the good ones haha. I saw this at a film fest last fall and it suuuuuucked!
Saw it a few days back. The first half was okey, but it got REALLY stupid after that. And the ending made me laugh out loud Well I shouldn't have expected anything else than schlock Japan used to make really great horror movies, during the late 90:s to early 00:s, like Ringu, Ju-On, Kairo, etc. But they just don't deliver the same kind of creepy atmosphere and scares anymore. It's just cheap thrills these days
Yeah, not very good, but I found it entertaining enough. I thought it was pretty decent for the first hour but really didn't seem like they knew what to do with the whole versus part at the end there.
