I'm watching the blu-ray right now. It looks great! The audio is good too. I'm happy to finally have this in HD.

It seems this disc really IS hard to come by right now. A lot of people over at bluray.com are complaining about it. I'm happy I snagged my copy. I'm sure eventually everyone will have it in stock, but what a weird release.

I got mine earlier today, and plan on watching it later tonight. I ended up and had to pay about $6 more than my original B&N pre-order, but I don't trust Warner when they screw these things up.

There are screen comparisons up between the old DVD and Blu-ray: http://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?d1=8900&d2=8901&c=3590

Had to dig real deep, but I pulled up Salem's Lot, IT and Cat's Eye in the $7.88 bin. There's some other good ones in there too like The Conjuring. Lots of Freddy vs. Jason's!

I'm reading Wolves of the Calla (The Dark Tower Book 5), which features Fr. Callahan fairly prominently. But it's been 20 years since I read Salem's Lot. So, rather than re-reading it, I thought this would be a perfect time to throw on my BD instead. I thought that I had watched it a long time ago, but upon watching it, I remembered almost nothing. So...it's possible that I only ever saw the truncated version (I assume that's what what available on VHS?), or perhaps I'd never seen this one at all! In either case, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I really love that leisurely pace that tv movies roll along at. Of course, it turns out that Fr. Callahan is almost completely excluded from the movie, so i had to go look up a synopsis of the book anyhow! oh well....

Today I found Cat's Eye, IT, and the 4K Texas Chainsaw (!) blurays in the dump bin. I already had Salem's Lot. They also had the Mad Max scream factory disc and Friday the 13th 2009. Awesome titles for 7.88!!

Yeah, when reading "Book 5" I kept thinking: WHO??? I only read "'Salem's Lot" once but watched the TV movie quite a few times as a kid.
