I was at work today flipping through a new video retail magazine and saw a feature about an upcoming uncut Saw DVD. It includes the same special features as the current disc, with some new ones that I can't recall at the moment. The artwork is pretty much the same as the current one except for big red splotches all over it. Release date is September... the exact date I don't remember.
Yep, Saw was the first ever horror movie to have plot holes. Anyway, I'd pick up the uncut version, I tought it was a fun movie.
Please. There are plot holes...and then are plot freakin' bottomless pits, where unsuspecting moviegoers can drop their common sense into and never hear it hit bottom. Almost every film has plot holes. Saw IS a plot hole.
Damn, it seemed like only yesterday that I had people leaving my apartment early while trying to endure Saw. Thanks for the memories. *sniffle*
originally i was going to get this, but now, i don't think i will. i don't think 30 secs is worth shelling out another $20. maybe if i find it use i may double dip.
Some of those plotholes people have been mentioning make perfect sense (Like Jigsaw doing the electric shock. Jigsaw didn't shock them, Zep did. During the entire scene where the shock first happened the screen kept flashing between them and zep watching on the video camera.) of course, just like how some movies grow on you with time, some movies look more and more ridiculous each time you see them. Saw seems to be one of those.
I never buy the first release from a Hollywood studio, there's going to be a better edition soon afterwards. Plus with the new HD DVD and Blu-Ray DVD coming out for Christmas, I see no reason to get any of it.
With all this "uncut" stuff on DVD, I always remember CECIL B. DEMENTED. Has anyone seen this? In this John Waters film, a group of pro-cinema terrorists arrive in a theater that shows "PATCH ADAMS - THE DIRECTOR'S CUT" and destroy it. Anyway, SAW was flawed but I had a good time watching it. I own the UK DVD and that's more than I need actually. X-Human, this must be my favorite sig here.
I really enjoyed Saw, but if it's really just 30 seconds, then that's not enough to sway another purchase, and I'll stick with what I've got. I don't think I've seen a film without a plot whole in quite some time
