i will say fire in the sky also. i wasn't a kid when i saw it the first time either. those alien scenes are so scary.

but with the movies i've seen lately, when someone tells me they want to see a real scary movie, i tell them the eye.

"Just Before Dawn" scared me as a kid (where's the DVD?!), but I have to echo everyone else: the original "TCM" is the one that gets me today as much as it did when I first saw it. Sadism without gore is totally disturbing.

    1. "Omen" (most goosebumps)
    2. "The Ring"
    3. "TCM" (original)

If I haven't already posted in this thread (I don't feel like going through all the pages) the only film to even remotely freak me out was Friday the 13th Part 3 when i was about seven.

That rotted Ms. Voorhees corpse just got to me as a youngster for some reason.

The Exorcist still has the power to frighten me, Jason Miller is intense as Father Karras. The whole thing is utterly beliveable and very disconcerting. As a kid, Amityville Horror II: The Possession scared the hell outta me. I guess something about demonic possession just scares me, can't believe Amityville II: The Possession is not a region 1 dvd yet. Burt Young rules!!
