As the remake/reboot draws closer everyday..i find myself becoming more and more F13th/Jason obssessed! :D

so, in your opinion, what is the scariest F13th film??

IMO, Part 2 hands down. the most suspensful, really creepy, most serious out of them all, Jason's mysteriousness.

Part 2 was actually scary. All due respect to the hockey mask, but the sack was WAY scarier. And the long hair, the pitchfork...so good.

Part 2. It still gives me the creeps in certain scenes.

Yeah definitely. While none of the films are really "scary", Part 2 has the creepiest atmosphere and by FAR the creepiest Jason.

Part 2 was the first one I ever saw and it scared me more than any of the others. Even today the scene where Jason runs across the road in front of the cop gives me the willies. And his sack? And his house? And his OshKosh B'Gosh overalls? Creepy!

Part 2 is not my favourite of the series (though I really like it), but it's the scariest.

Part III, followed closely behind by Part VI: Jason Lives.

I never found parts II or IV: The Final Chapter very scary because Jason made too much noise. In The Final Chapter, he was grunting too much. Especially during the banana scene. That always takes away from my ability to be "scared" by Jason. And he just looked silly in Part II.

He may have been a little silly in Jason Lives as well, but the way the director shot all the night scenes spooked the HELL out of me. Especially when Sissy slowly creeps up to the open window. That always gets to me.

But I went with Part III, maybe voted too hastily (though it's too late now to change it), because it was one of the first I'd seen and it was incredibly intense and suspenseful.

I picked part 2 and I'm pleased to see that I'm in good company. :) The altar to mom is pretty crazy when you think about it. And now that I think about it some more, I can't figure out why the filmmaker's didn't have Jason make more altars in the sequels. When Jason resurrected wouldn't he have grabbed mom's head? Yes he would've, but we're led to believe that he just left it to rot in that shack. Inconceivable!

    True story.
Being very afraid of horror movies when I was a kid, I decided to overcome my fear by watching as many as possible. F13-speaking, I started from Jason Lives. Being 11, I couldn't understand what the fuss was all about. I mean, I remembered Flash Gordon b/w Episodes being far scarier. Yes, THAT much.

    Part 2 however...
The conception of the wheelchair scene is diabolic to say the least. It shows true contempt for human life and dignity - thus creeping me every time I see this.

Not the better film (I prefer parts 1, 4 and I really like the pace of part 7) but by far the creepiest.

I guess I'll have to say Part 2.

The original is damn close, though.

The only thing that even creeped me out about any of the other ones was the bloody headed, unmasked Jason in part 3 scraping at the window.

Yeah I don;t really find any of them creepy either, but if I had to pick one I'd probably say Part 2 followed by part 4. And I agree, the remake will probably be the scariest one.

I Love them all but Friday The 13TH Part 2 has some Great Scary and Creepy moments throughout the Film!! So many Scary Scenes in this Movie and that ending!! Wow!!

I have to say that the Original Friday The 13TH has some Great Scary moments too, and the ending scene ranks among my all time Favorites in Horror!! Everything about that scene is amazing from the Beautiful almost Haunting Music that sets you up up to believe everything is going to be OK, and then Wham!! Out of nowhere, that scene never fails to make me jump!! Harry Manfredini is really overlooked when it comes to Film Scores but his Music in the Friday The 13TH Movies is legendary!!

Oh, it's part 3 for me. What I think makes it the scariest is having the scariest Jason. I like how Richard Brooker played the part. Almost hopping during chases, arms flailing, wrists usually bend. The mask was classic, and I also loved how they gave him a fat rolled neck that didn't match his physique. It was just eerie.

    Easily par 2 for me.

The dirty hand with the bruised fingernails moving the tea kettle at the beginning really sets the tone of the movie quite well. That was a damn creepy moment for me. That and the kick-ass chase scene at the end.

My response as well. I still don't hold too much weight with the series, but part 2 and part 5 had similar reactions from me. (5 for different reasons).
