Humongous release tomorrow!
HUMONGOUS is here!
Will there be a slip for this? Thought I'd heard it mentioned but I don't see any other artwork other the one above.
Ronin confirmed on Facebook it does have a slipcover first 2000 copies
Ordered Humongous along with Silent Scream, Zeder and Deadly Dreams. I missed out on the 50% off Shout! sale, so I'm treating myself here.
I kinda dig the new Humongous artwork!
Still have the scorpion DVD of humongous and vhs. Still on the fence if I want the blu. Does ronin take pre paid visa credit cards?
They take Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, China Union Pay or PayPal.
As long as your prepaid card has enough of a balance to cover the charge, I don't see why they wouldn't accept it.
Thanks I can't get it until July 1st though do you think humongous will still be available?
This doesn't appear to be a limited release so there shouldn't be any issue getting a copy. Even if only 2000 have a slip I can't imagine this title would be popular enough for the price to sell out anytime soon.
I LOVE the Ronin site. LOVE!
My last order direct from Code Red (Twisted Nightmare, Julie Darling, etc) took over a month to arrive. I think shipping was like $9.
I ordered Humongous with free shipping on Tuesday and already have it in my hands. I love this movie and can't wait to watch the blu-ray this weekend.
I ordered it the same day too, went for the free shipping.(it was around 5pm). Tracking says for Monday. June 22, 2017, 7:54 pm was the time stamp of the drop off at USPS. So I guess they shipped me out in a later batch. Either way, that's pretty fast from Thursday(arriving Monday). And it's free.
New title announcement:
Nice! It will join Island of Death, The Wind and Zero Boys in my collection.
I actually think that this is his best film.
I would love to see a Blu Ray of The Wind.
My copy of Humongous took a bit longer to ship than I would've liked since I chose to pay for shipping but it's on its way to me so that's what matters. There's no denying that Ronin is super awesome in this department! As for Code Red, I'd ordered a DVD about 6 weeks ago during one of their rare sales. If it wasn't for the shipping notification email I received out of the blue I would've forgotten all about it. Tracking, as usual, was useless since it never updated but I received it just shy of 10 days after I got the email. Bill could really use a hand to ship orders. Can't he hire some kid to help pack stuff for a couple of bucks?
If I knew the blu ray would suck I would have never sold my dvd of Humongous. Regret.
The Blu-ray doesn't suck, it just has a couple of problems. The transfer is a definite improvement as far as visible detail, it's just the audio problem that was quite noticeable. But thankfully that only occurs briefly during the movie.
What's the audio issue?
ETA: Never mind, I saw the issues brought up on the other thread.
I was happy with Scorpion's blu of Humongous. It is on the dark side, sourced from a print, obviously. But looking more like the Scream Factory blu of The Final Terror than 88's horrible blu of Slaughterhouse. The audio issue is very brief. The plus side, it looks like film, has some depth and it's a rare glimpse at what an original print looked like. I'll never watch the dvd again.
The review has been updated to acknowledge the audio issue.
