Having just watched it, the issue seems to be contained to the second reel (it comes and goes from when Nick crashes the boat until shortly after he is killed). I wonder if it's an issue with the print source, since the disclaimer and back of the case said multiple sources were used?

Yeah, if it was fine on the dvd then the good audio should have been extracted and synced to the viz on the blu. It is totally doable even though the timing would be finicky.

Honestly enough people stuck up for the 88 release of Slaughterhouse and then along came the VS version. I am waiting for the next release of Humungous because I have a feeling there will be one, Ghost Ship style.

I do love the new artwork though. No floating heads and pretty intense looking.

DVDBeaver reviews Ten Little Indians: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film6/blu-ray_reviews_76/ten_little_indians_blu-ray.htm

"Yeah, this doesn't look very good. A notch above the SD transfer but very soft, hazy, loose colors... no depth. It does seem to support the Optimum color scheme and isn't fatally poor in-motion but I think it's softer than it should be. At the end of the day, it surpasses the DVD visuals - and is in the correct 1.66:1 aspect ratio. Perhaps I'm being too critical - I was just expecting it to be sharper."

just watched the dvd tonight and wow, you really can see alot more detail, like in the scene in the woods when the monster grabs the dog and kills it. you can see everything.. not on the bluray.

Well, damn. I just bought Ten Little Indians but those screen caps look really bad. Scorpion usually does better.

I watched the Blu-ray yesterday, and it's not very impressive. It's serviceable, but definitely won't win any awards for the transfer.

The audio is also far from ideal, sometimes with some slight audible crackling. I had a hard time even understanding some of the dialogue unless I turned on the "Dialogue Adjust" setting on my Yamaha receiver to sweeten it. I really wish there would have been subtitles, as some of the various accents were difficult to understand at times.

Overall this is very disappointing to hear. For nearly $30.00 you expect a good transfer. If the DVD shows more that sucks.

It's a dark movie shot on film where even - best case basis - the negative (without lots of digital tinkering) would only reveal so much. Audio issue aside I really enjoyed it. I haven't seen it since VHS so to my eyes this is a huge upgrade.

Anyone experiencing longer than usual shipping times from Ronin? I'm still waiting for an order I placed on July 5th. Usually stuff I order from Ronin arrives within 3 days but this one is taking so long.

A few weeks ago, I'd probably have blind-bought this, but after Walt's failure to address the audio issue on the Humongous release, I'm more inclined to wait for reviews and buyer reactions save for a few of his releases that I gotta have around the release date.

In this case, however, it's not that the reviewer is unfavourable in his comments on the technical presentation so much as him not doing a the best job of selling the movie.
