Wes Benscoter's artwork is always great. He's been doing death metal album covers for years, but recently he did the art for Arrow's Slugs, Wolfguy and Microwave Massacre covers and the really great cover for Severin's Burial Ground release. I hope they'll keep using him for more covers, I don't think I've ever seen anything bad from him.

There's a new edition of House on Sorority Row coming in April 2018:

The artwork is different but not in a good way. Kind of uninspired. Like I get the significance of the pool scene, but meh...

i think its funny that they kept the "...when she fights back" tagline, which is completely unrelated to the film, and only works with the trashy sorority babe artwork...in that they go well together, but don't represent the film at all.

Not a big fan of those new Sorority Row covers. The original art is classic. There was no need to leave it absent.

I can only echo your comments. I'm beginning to really hate this new "comic book" style artwork everybody keeps doing.

Hopefully they check this release with a fine-tooth comb. I don't want another Humongous fiasco, and the lingering silence that went with it.

I don't totally dislike the art with the 3 faces above the house but it has nothing to do with the movie. While the other art is more appropriate as it references a key scene it's also just incredibly boring. Leaving out the original art was a dumb move.

Also I don't so much have a problem with the drawn/painted art as I do with the approach. Shout's floating head design they often use looks ugly most of the time but their recent art for Silent Night Deadly Night looks fantastic.
Also Arrow's recent Carrie art is another fantastic piece that comes to mind and one I like more than the original poster.

One of the artwork examples is the Spanish poster for this film which came out during it's initial release. There is also a second Spanish style poster artwork which I can post if anyone is interested in.

for those who prefer the original art, it will be available three month later via retail like amazon, without the custom arts, nor the slip sleeve and the alternate art, so it will be one sided wrap with the original art. the disc contents will be identical

Deathship will be the same as well, for those who dont want the slip sleeve, custom art, or the "skull head" newspaper ad.

So with the limited edition, is it custom artwork for the slipcover, and then reversible art with the original artwork underneath? Or does the limited edition not contain the original artwork at all?

Either way, so glad this is getting a remaster. Definitely picking it up.

limited edition = slipsleeve with custom art, wrap will have custom art on front, Spanish "head" poster as back

regular release version will have just wrap with the original art

both disc contents will be identical

This does not make any sense. The limited edition should offer everything. If the original artwork is missing, it's definitely less special. If you expect people to double dip you should not reduce the content. If you offer a slip cover there is space for 3 artworks, why only offer 2?

This echoes my thoughts too. The limited edition should definitely contain the original art.

Three months isn't that long of a wait. Since the disc content is identical on both releases, just grab the one with the cover you prefer. Problem solved.
