We are happy to report that THE UNSEEN will be arriving next week. Here is info about the upcoming release that will be limited to 1,000 copies.

The new artwork is from artist Devon Whitehead and will be featured on the slipsleeve and cover. The original poster artwork will be featured on the reverse wrap.

A TV reporter (Barbara Bach) and two friends head to Solvang, California, to cover a Danish festival. When a mix-up at the hotel leaves them stranded without hotel rooms, the girls accept the invitation of a friendly museum owner to board at his farmhouse.

But what the women don't know is that something is living in the basement of that farmhouse. Something unspeakable. And their stay soon becomes a horrific nightmare when they encounter the "unseen". From an original story by Stan Winston & Tom Burman, written by Kim Henkel of Texas Chainsaw Massacre fame.

It's a bummer they couldn't sort out the issues with the interviews on Human Experiments. They're even referenced in the Katarina's Nightmare Theater segment. Would love to see an interview with Linda Haynes.

I was completely unfamiliar with this movie, it was a pretty interesting mash-up of '70s psychological horror and the women-in-prison genre. I did think the middle chunk of the movie dragged, but the first and final acts were terrific. I don't want to spoil anything, but the scene where Linda Haynes gets herself in this mess in the first place was surprisingly creepy. Reminded me of Children Of The Corn, only 5 years earlier.

Neat little exploitation film. Glad to add it to my collection.

The release of Death Ship, the Unrated cut, (which I never new existed) are there extended scenes of carnage or is it just an extra scene?

I'm not sure what exactly runs longer... but I believe they are basically just the 3 deleted scenes reinserted.

The theatrical cut on the disc is 90:46 and the extended cut is 93:20. So there are nearly 3 minutes extra.

The transfer is a huge upgrade over the old Blu-ray however. The shower scene for instance is especially crystal clear over the old transfer.

Those screen grabs are very encouraging. I'm grateful for Walt's efforts to give us this gem looking the best it possibly can. I know he searched for better source materials, but if this is as good as it can look, I am more than happy.

Best of luck with the RITUALS restoration, that's a film truly deserving of the efforts.

I watched the Leonor Blu-ray last night, having always wanted to see it but alas never getting the chance before now. It was a pretty amazing film, which starts off as almost an historical medieval drama piece but gets darker and darker as the film goes on. Haunting score by Ennio Morricone too.

I watched the longer International cut with the original Spanish audio track intact (plus English subs). The shorter U.S. cut of the film is included also (English audio only). I noticed one single line of dialogue missing any English subtitles, so I had to switch over the the English track to hear it...but otherwise an impressive disc.

The Troy Howarth commentary was also quite enlightening, as usual.

Definitely recommended if you like period films similar to Flesh + Blood and The Name of the Rose ... yet it's also quite different than those.
