I went to Severin to check the price and $29.00 is too much for me. I've seen the film on import laserdisc and don't remember it being all that entertaining.

Normally I wouldn't but just sold a comic book for some big $$$ and feel like buying some of this Limited edition stuff.

I am the same way for a lot of limited edition movies. Sometimes I wonder why I spend more just for a slip cover but this is a title I will be content to get a regular edition for hopefully about half that price.

    Regular cover $19.99

    Limited Cover $22.99

Not exactly breaking the bank. Went for the Limited Cover.

1986 Fulci is cutting it a little close to his clunker years, isn't it? Is Devil's Honey supposed to be his last good film? I'll buy pretty much anything Severin releases but I'll draw the line at any of Fulci's TV movies from the late 80's. I enjoyed Door Into Silence, though.

Honestly, the bad Fulci films outnumber the good, and it's not close. Having said that, he is a filmmaker that I am fairly obsessed with, so even if this is a train wreck, I need to see it. I've seen some of his non-horror output, but managed to not see this.

His best film is still Beatrice Cenci in my book. He was the right man for that story.

That was fast. The Limited Edition slip cover for The Devil's Honey is sold out even with the pin. Looks like DiabolikDVD still has it in stock however. Should go fast.

Seems like these rare films can be the occasional hit like that. It's interesting when they do and often it's hard to explain why this one did but that other one didn't.

I didn't plan on this one going so fast either. Fortunately I saw Severin's Facebook updates the past couple days. I just went for the slipcover edition.

I was pissed tht I missed out on this so I kept checking Severin's website to see if any more would magically appear and as luck would have it one came up about 2:00 a.m. with the Fulci pin so I snatched it :D Now it looks like I didn't have to worry so much because Diabolik has it but that's ok.

My guess is by next year, as more and better movies get released, people will be selling these off. Something can be limited to 1000 but if only 500 people end up happy with their purchase, there will be an oversupply in the aftermarket. Love Fulci for his good films, not for his bad ones. Easy pass. And why are enamel pins becoming a selling point?

I'm checking out The Devil's Honey before I commit to a purchase. Seems interesting enough and people seem to say it was his last good film but I've heard people also say Don't Torture a Duckling was his best giallo and I didn't care for that one at all. Fulci tends to be very hit and miss for me anyway.

EDIT : got it, ordered the regular edition along with The Fox With A Velvet Tail on DVD Pacific, 40$ including shipping to Belgium
