If you're looking for some Severin titles to add, their Kung-Fu Trailers of Fury discs are heavily discounted now, $5 each for the Blu, $3 for the DVD. I know I paid a lot more for them when they first came out. In a lot of cases, the trailers for Kung Fu flicks are better than the movies themselves! The trailers are often 3+ minutes and showcase the best fight scenes. And a lot of kung fu movies are 80 minutes of "You killed my master. Now I must kill you" crap till you get an epic 10 minute fight scene. (Don't get me wrong, there's some good kung-fu movies that are good movies period, but there's a lot crap movies with great fight scenes too)

I love both de la Iglesia films, so this is great news. Let's just hope Severin doesn't handle UHD compression like StudioCanal does.

That is excellent news. I was just thinking about giving The Day of the Beast another viewing the other day. I guess I'll wait for the new HD disc.

Lol, I can't wait to see how this turns out. They advertised The Strange Vice of Mrs Wardh as coming from a 4k scan and jeesh, it looks like garbage. With all the other issues I hear people complaining about when it comes to their releases, I'd be shocked if they didn't stuff something major up.

I didn't order any of the titles they had up for Black Friday, but this line-up piques my interest. A Scream in the Streets looks delightfully smutty, and I'm definitely curious about The Day of the Beast.

Day of the Beast looks too arthouse-y for my taste but 'Durango' looks right up my alley. Nosferatu in Venice looks like fun. That's it for me for that lineup. I continue waiting for the Black Emmanuelle set

Day of the Beast is definitely not arthouse. As with all Alex de la Iglesias's work it's just ridiculously entertaining - he deserves to be better known.

I liked what I saw in that video above. It has my interest. Don't know why the cover reads "Beastt" though, as they covered having a "t" in there with the demonic entity.

The original Spanish and U.S. posters used this design. In the Spanish poster it is a letter I and not a T even though the shadow makes it look like a T (cross).

Day Of The Beast was a one-time watch for me, although last time I saw it was the Trimark VHS, so I'm moderately curious to see a nice version of it.

    Definitely getting Perdita Durango.

So, Severin are doing these for April:

... and of course a bunch of lame bling items like a "Grizzly Cup" to go with those.

Grizzly & Day of the Animals will have new "2k scans" - which I'm not sure is enough of an incentive given Severin's spotty track record.

I am so tempted! I LOVE Grizzly, I like Day of the Animals quite a bit, and yes, I have the Scorpion releases. I am also curious about the D'Amato shark flick, though I would much have preferred Castellari's The Last Shark.

Speaking of Deep Blood, I actually watched Severin's disc of Cruel Jaws the other night. The reviews I had read made it sound like it was comprised primarily of footage lifted directly out of Deep Blood and The Last Shark edited together into a movie, within minimal new footage. I was pleasantly surprised that wasn't the case at all, they only use shots from those movies here and there (specifically the shark attack footage) and splice it in to their own shark attack scenes, as the Cruel Jaws production probably couldn't afford a fake shark. The only full scene they lift out of those movies is the wind-surfing race from The Last Shark, which they hilariously splice their Cruel Jaws actors into. I'd say the movie is 95% new movie shot as Cruel Jaws, with about 5% of it being shots spliced in from those two movies, as well as Universal's Jaws movies. That's not to say it doesn't shamelessly rip-off all of the above movies, as the Cruel Jaws actors are often imitating scenes from those movies. For instance, the scene from Jaws 3D where John Putch and Lea Thompson go skinny dipping after dark only to be pranked by Quaid and Armstrong is remade here almost word for word. To be fair though, Jaws 3D quite shamelessly ripped off the diving dock sequence from The Last Shark. Cruel Jaws actually takes footage of that scene from both movies and edits them together for one big maximum impact diving dock massacre! Oh yeah, did I mention that in addition to using shots from the Jaws movies, Cruel Jaws is also scored to the theme from Star Wars! I shit you not!

Honestly, I had more fun with Cruel Jaws than I did with either The Last Shark or Deep Blood. Highly recommended for those who can enjoy a good trashy creature feature.

If you want to try without buying, it looks like Severin added to movie to Amazon Prime free streaming.

I love both Grizzly and Day of the Animals, but would rather wait to see reviews of each first. Already own both on Blu-ray and not expecting much of an upgrade for either. Have never seen Deep Blood, but it already has my interest. Really sick of these merchandise bundles from Severin. Would rather see them invest in more film titles and quality improvement.
