Been waiting a long time for Faceless.
The german blu-ray was sadly an upscale...

Let's hope they don't fuck this up.

Hopefully it's another dual release with either 88 films or Arrow like their last couple, at least then option of better encode, of course if they fuck up the transfer then........

I keep coming back to that first set because it seems like something I should be really interested in, but every time I consider buying it, i read a few reviews and really consider what's in the set and it just doesnt appeal to me...it seems like a collection of really uninteresting stuff.

Yes! Been waiting for Faceless to get an upgrade, and let's see if this ends up being the first Franco to hit UHD!?

I'm sorry, but I'm confused by your statement. What Shriek Show DVD and why would anything I have to say about the Christopher Lee set convince you to sell your DVD?

Your post was the first one I saw that had the faceless info, didn't realise it had been posted by someone else.

If I recall, a few people reported that their Faceless DVDs from Shriek Show would freeze up and stop playing around the layer change, so I'd be sure to double check your disc before selling it. I didn't have any issues with mine last time I watched it though.

I guess I'll put this in this thread, but over the weekend I watched Sean Baker's excellent Red Rocket, and also listened to the commentaries. Apparently the head honcho of Severin Films did a voice cameo in the movie, and they threw in a major nod to Anthrophophagus that completely slipped by me.

^ The girl had a Wild Beasts poster in her room as well.

I enjoyed Red Rocket well enough, but didn't find it as powerful as Tangerine, The Florida Project, or Starlet. Supposedly Criterion is releasing several of his earlier films later this year, will be curious to check those out.

I'm guessing this isn't an April Fools prank...

Apparently Faceless is also coming from Le Chat Qui Fume "soon" on UHD and BD, no word on whether it will be English friendly but at least there is confirmation that there will be a UHD somewhere. Translated from the latest update email:

I was sent an email from Le Chat Qui Fume this morning so this is not an April Fool's Day prank.

Yeah, I figured; I was just covering my bases in case it turned out to be fake. :]

Apparently, Baker is a HUGE B-movie aficionado. I plan on checking out "Red Rocket" at some point since I've only been hearing great things about it.

Before selling the faceless DVD I decided to give it a view as it's been years since I saw it, we'll after watching it I'm quite happy to sell the DVD but I also won't be upgrading, jesus it's fucking awful. The Chainsaw scene was fun but the rest of it ugh! No idea what I enjoyed here all those years ago. Saved myself a few quid, and hopefully gain a few offloading it.

Quoting a pretty old post here, but I just watched this over the weekend on Shudder (it was recently added there) and it's a real winner.

I've always wondered why Jess Franco is poopular (not a typo). Someone who cranks out a couple of movies every 5 days can't really be bothered too much by professionalism. I've never seen a Franco movie I actually liked - not even drunk. Seriously, what do people like about his films?
