    Tje usual bullshit?
Something I always loved about SWaves was that after they made this really restrained, austere, carefully crafted film Trane and Weidernhorn next did the Animal House knock off KING FRAT. I hope it had plenty of booger jokes.

I can't wait for this I really enjoyed it when Blue Underground first released the DVD. Sounds like it got a nice transfer.

Top 10 all-time favorite for me. I got to see it on the big screen at The New Beverly in LA about 5-10 years ago with a packed house. Played just as well as when I first saw it.

MEATBALLS, an early hit for Bill Murray and director Ivan Reitman.

Do you know if the electronic soundtrack was made available at least in bootleg form?

Reviews are never helpful when the reviewer keeps telling us how much they hate the movie. It's not for everyone, but one comment really sticks out from that DVD Talk review:
Here is a more positive review from Rock Shock Pop: http://www.rockshockpop.com/forums/content.php?4467-Shock-Waves

Cheap I can readily see. But I refuse to accept any movie with Peter Cushing being labeled 'uninteresting' or 'entirely too forgettable'.

Someone needs to grovel for forgiveness at the master's grave.

If that guy found Shock Waves uninteresting I wonder what he DOES find interesting. Probably not any old school horror film. Who's reviewing these movies anyway, 20 year olds? Probably people who think Twilight is the best thing that ever happened to horror. Stick to the picture quality and extras, let US be the judge of the films themselves.

The 2.5 star scores for the audio and video on the DVD Talk review seem a little misleading. Other than saying, "...this Blu-Ray transfer is actually quite impressive, which is very, very faint praise," the reviewer really doesn't comment on the transfer itself, just the problems inherent with the remaining source elements used for the transfer and his own personal distaste with the film.

I guess that means this is a great transfer of the best remaining elements. :p

I agree here...this guy probably had his head up his ass while watching it. It's the cheaply made horror films that usually turn out to be the most effective. NOTLD '68 and Halloween '78 come to mind;)

Yeah, that particular DVDTalk reviewer usually has his head up his anal cavity. I learned to skip his reviews months ago. He claims he has two degrees in "screenwriting" but his misuse of commas and periods and other assorted grammatical mistakes makes me wonder what rules of writing (or proofreading) he learned.
