I guess that's cool.... Shout! going the extra mile to appease the fans.

I don't understand why everyone has such a hard on for the TV version though. Its inferior to the theatrical cut in many ways,...and the best line of the whole goddamn movie isn't even in it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdB0__gkKmU

Halloween I and II have probably been my favorite horror flicks since childhood and it's fucking amazing to finally see Halloween II get a more than expected, respectful DVD/Blu-Ray release since it's basically been shit out by Universal and Good Times over the years. It's a great thing to finally have this release to go along with the Anchor Bay Halloween release which also included the original's TV cut as well. A lot of people, like myself, appreciate this purely from a nostalgic point of view because for a lot of us who grew up long before the days of home theaters and fully loaded dvd/blu-rays, seeing this on TV was the only way we saw it for years before finally getting ahold of an uncut VHS or before cable really came into play. Christ I'm showing my age.

Tell me about it. Better late than never I guess. I've been waiting for this release since the infancy of DVD.

    +1

Totally agree with you. I like hearing that a company is making an effort with its releases.

That's great news about the TV version being included! And it's just more proof that Shout are one of the best studios out there right now.

Beautiful Shawn. I think I'm back in for buying this.

EDIT: Me and Shawn were discussing this over FB. For everyone's editification, the universal BR has the alt ending and some deleted scenes. However, Shout I think has a better set of features with the commentaries and the complete tv edit in whole.

For those who don't know here is a list of edits/alt. scenes for the TV version:

    Thanks for the link.

Wow. FWIW, I despise H2, mainly because everything about it was the antithesis of H1 (and why I loved H20 so much, everything was implied, rather than being onscreen). I described it as pornography on another thread for good reason. Gore is one thing, but I always felt it was out of place in H2. Interesting to see that was not really Rosenthal's vision at all. Mind you, that doesn't excuse him for Resurrection, but that's a separate matter.

Great that they will inlcude the TV cut. But it would still be nice to have the option to watch the scenes that differ from the theatrical version seperately als single deleted scenes on the Blu itself.
Is it true that the Universal disc only offers some of the deleted scenes and not all of them?

I think this is pretty cool to have both versions.

An Update from SCREAM FACTORY via their Facebook page:

Street Date Update: TERROR TRAIN & THE FUNHOUSE are both planned for a 10/16 release. We should have preorder links available at ScreamFactoryDVD.com available by end of June or early July so keep checking back!

Key Art Update: THE FUNHOUSE is still in 'final processing' stages (to borrow a quote from Halloween III). We're eager to share it and we will as soon as we can. :)

I wonder if there's any chance that Shout Factory would release the unrated/uncut version of Cherry Falls (2000)? As far as I know, USA Home Entertainment is owned by Universal, so it's got to be a possibility. It's a fucking travesty that USA basically got scared and dumped it (a shitty double feature, no less)--with all that gnarly gore unseen to this day. :(

A Universal title I'd like to see from Shout is 1981's GHOST STORY. That one still gives me the chills

Uncut/original cut of Cherry Falls. I'd pay through the nose for that!

I second that. Great ghoulish makeup, a seasoned cast headed by the wonderful Alice Kriege, an engaging story - what's not to love?
