AAgggrrrhh! Don't say that I'm hoping 2016, I need my Suspiria fix!
Panel from this past weekend. Don mentioned some big news is forthcoming regarding Phantasm. Hopefully it is blurays or a remake. I think this series would be great as a remake if done properly.
I can't say I disagree about a remake but I have no idea who I'd want behind it. Studio interference would surely come into play with this film I think and any good script that is writen will likely be tampered with and watered down.
Obviously I hope this isn't the case though should a remake happen.
There's a new leaked trailer up at https://mega.nz/#!WsEiEQDJ!ufxX6mCn0FVIq1RjnhQWl8tYXelUgJQahGd1chK_TUw
Better hurry, seems like it's being taken down wherever it's uploaded.
Here are some snapshots from the trailer.
phantasm ravager is finished http://phantasmarchives.blogspot.com/2015/10/news-phantasm-ravager-is-finished.html
I hope they have gotten a distributor now, or it might be delayed until early 2016.
I think it's time to watch the original tonight
update for phantasm ravager http://www.joblo.com/horror-movies/news/don-coscarelli-provides-an-update-on-phantasm-ravager-197
Both Phantasm Ravager and Phantasm 4K confirmed for 2016 http://www.fangoria.com/new/phantasm-ravager-4k-phantasm-confirmed-for-2016-release/
looks like Phantasm Ravager got picked up by Anchor Bay http://zombiesdontrun.net/news/phantasm-ravager-is-with-anchor-bay/
Ok cool. Now release the fucking thing already.
Also, where's our box set announcement damnit!
Ugh, almost any studio would have been better.
Agreed. Apart from joining forces with Scream for the Halloween collection I don't think they've had any note worthy releases for quite some time.
I don't give a flying rats ass who releases it as long as it gets RELEASED.
Well I'm sure a lot of us won't be happy if it gets released menu-less and without any special features.
If it doesn't oh well. I'll just be happy when it comes out.
And a substandard transfer that looks like poop floating around a toilet.
seen this posted over at Imdb forums not sure if true or not though
Just got a YUGE Phantasm info dump from a highly reliable friend of mine my Entertainment Journalist days HOWEVER, he admits it is partially from uninformed folk. But here it is:
Arrow, based in the UK, has rights to all five philms and has been hard at work on creating brand new extras and transfers for all 5. He does not know if Arrow has US home video rights, however Arrow DOES have theatrical rights, yes 'theatrical', for p1 and Ravager and this is at least part of the reason holding up release.
He added, and this might be the best part, that we will know soon when the philms will be released. He said Arrow plans to exhibit both the remaster and Ravager at TIFF with that announcement coming within the next 4-5 weeks and home video release plans to be announced at tiff, as well as the limited run of p1 master and at a lower field p1 and p5 double feature.
He said Don is legally gagged and can not give any information until Arrow says so.
Home video release window is thought to be Oct - Nov.
Of all this information the friend insists Arrow owning US theatrical and EU video and the TIFF timing is definite. I guess we'll know soon enough. Take with a grain of salt.
Any rumors that are sourced from the IMDB forums should come with a red flag, but all credibility this rumor may have had was lost with the following statements...

It doesn't help that this was posted in a thread titled The news you've been waiting for (maybe!).
