Halloween: Resurrection was a steaming pile of crap. At least H20 went back to the series' roots with Laurie Strode. Halloween: Resurrection is one of the worst sequels ever made.

agreed it is a very bad sequel but H20 is too much like the scream movies which are good i mean some of the music in h20 is the same from scream and another thing that sticks out is the horrible cgi myers mask also another thing i hated was the fact they ignored parts 4-6 there was supposed to be a connection in a classroom scene when a student brings up jamie lloyd's character but was never filmed if it was i believe i may have a better liking for it. also there was a scene at the end of h20 that makes the switch with the paramedic and myers in ressurrection more convincing according to imdb

You know, I have Home Sweet Home and the one time I tried watching it I fell asleep quickly. It's probably as boring as I should expect it to be, but I need to give it another try.

Come on, dude. Busta Rhymes beat up Michael in Halloween: Resur. I will take the "Scream" feel in H20 over that every day of the week.

Thats how boring found Home Sweet Home as well....I put it on and after the first 15 minutes I was fiddling around on my computer giving it the occassional glance saying: "Oh its still on" :sleepy:

Its really bad....but mine was a Christmas present so I couldn't take it back

I wanted so much to like Lunchmeat(more TCM-inspired than bodycount per se) but it really is just an awful film. There's literally no point to it,as even the killings are dull and plodding, and the cast of porn stars don't even drop a top.I will hang onto my VHS due to its rarity and sweet cover art, however.Home Sweet Home really is awful,BTW.Eli Roth's Thanksgiving really could become what this film should've been... if it ever comes to fruition.

It is indeed a terrible movie. First of all, it is an undignified end for a strong character which much of the series was built around. It is not so much that Laurie finally loses her struggle with Michael, but that the movie has the audicity to make such a major event a side note to a much lamer plot revolving around suddenly introduced, poorly played characters that have nothing to do with anything. The myth of Michael Myers has a timelessness to it, and ending the series with irrelevant musings on the reality tv fad doesn't work at all. And boy, was Busta Rhymes ever obnoxious.

Wow..there are some intersting likes/dislikes in this thread.

As far as slasher that I don't care for, here is my list:

The Prowler - love the killings/make-up work, but this has got to be one of the most boring movies ever.

Return to Horror High - pretty bad.
Happy Birthday to Me - really, really bad.
    Friday the 13th - pt 5 and 8.
Sleepaway Camp - ALL of them - sorry guys, but I can't like this series.
    Halloween 6 and Halloween Resurrection

    Just my two cents:

BTW - I loved He Knows You're Alone - sorry Matt 89 :D There goes your chance to walk me down the aisle in my wedding gown!!

The Forest and Bloody Murder 1 & 2 are dreadful.

Friday the 13th Part 8 is real close to making the list.

Return to Sleepaway Camp, while not the worst...was the most disappointing slasher in the past couple years.

Precisely. I was so angry with this movie, just....arrrgh it's so shit!!!!

Yeah I know what you mean. This was such an utter disappointment. The only thing it has going for it is the effects, a generally creepy atmosphere and a brilliant chase sequence. The ending is quite good too, I actually REALLY loved the way this movie ended, complete with the music that played over the end credits. But other than that, yeah...snoozefest. There's like a good 30-40 min chunk of the movie where NOTHING HAPPENS! What the hell!?

I was totally thrilled by The Prowler, and it's one of my favourite slashers. I don't mind a slasher opting for a slower pace for part of its running time. It allows it to feel that much more intense when it switches gears for the final chase. With some newer movies, you really get the sense that young people today need constant stimulation in order not to lose focus. Well for me, it de-emphasises the scares and the suspense if the movie doesn't take a breather every now and then...

  17. im surprised of some of the hate for some of the 80s slashers above, maybe im just easily pleased! Stuff like "madman" and "the prowler" are amongst my favourites...

anyways the WORST 80s slasher film that I own is definitely "shadows run black"... truly dire without any of the guilty pleasure cheesy charm that makes z-grade crud like "pieces" and "the dark power" such enjoyable viewing....

"mountaintop motel massacre" also deserves a mention for being one of the dullest 80s slashers out there, definitely wouldn't watch that one again, although certainly not the worst....

also i remember in the late 90s there were all these movies that you'd see in poundshops that all looked the same, "final scream", "do you wanna know a secret", "a crack in the floor"... they were also truly rubbish, mainly for being a poor man's scream-clone with absolutley nothing remotely enjoyable or memorable about them...! maybe im just biased cos i love the 80s :)

    This is a small list:

Return to Horror High- My hate runs deep for this godawful mess.

    Bloody Murder

    Cut

    Final Exam- Boring!

Prom Night- Another yawnfest. Plus, disco sucks!

Rituals- A slasher that gets plenty of acclaim, but it's nothing special.

Scream sequels- The first one's good, but these sequels were bad. Didn't they poke fun at slasher sequels being unnecessary? ;)

Blood Feast 2: All U Can Eat- This buffet should've been closed down. It gave me bad indigestion.

    Humongous

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday- Different isn't always good.

I can't understand the hate some have on here for Madman...that is one of the greatest slashers ever, and it has the best killer in any of them.
