In any case I would gladly support a kickstarter to help gather funds if the footage was ever found.
I just want to point out that in the case of re-editing a film you have to decide which footage of which takes to use before scanning. If they have good notes from their editing that can be easier but you're still talking about shorting through a plethora of film cans, cans of sound elements, and then you get to scan them in. And that's if it's all well noted and labeled. If not, you essentially have to go through all the footage and compare to the tape in order to decide what to use. And in order for their original soundtrack to synced you have to get every frame perfect in editing, which is tedious. Especially when your reference is 29.98fps VHS tape.
There can be a lot of hands on time there with film elements. Not something to be done lightly.
So I picked up the Blu; DVD compression and color space can fall short of even good MASTER tapes for analog. So what the hell, couple bucks difference, and BD is the more stable format (even though DVD is very stable as is).
I got Killer Workout and Shock'em Dead on BD and I'm glad they released them on the format. The higher bitrate/better compression alone makes it worth putting on the format.

Just watched the Killer Workout dvd.
Let's clear something up. The transfer is way better than a VHS rip. If I were to compare it to anything, it'd be a laserdisc. Edges are sharper than I've ever seen the film, and there's detail in the walls, floors, and even chest hair. When the quality dips, it's not youtube-like... it's VHS-like. That's what a 2nd generation videotape looks like.
So, I am fine with this release. Not too many picture crap outs, the music plays well, everything is visible. And it goes well on the shelf after Killer Party.
Thanks for this post. I was worried hearing people claiming it looks like a VHS rip. I know it's not going to look stunning but I'd assumed the tape source would look better than your average VHS. Good to hear detail is slightly better here as well. I'm hoping to get mine next week along with Shock Em Dead.
I just watched Death Nurse and it was a struggle to stay awake. And it's only 60 minutes long. Barely watchable.
Yeah I've seen reviews for it and even they were hard to watch. Definitely looks like a stinker.
If Death Nurse 1 & 2 were released together on one DVD, I might pick them up, but both separate means there's no way. They're just terrible!
God help me, I still have Part 2 to watch.
They should consider using movies like Death Nurse as a torture devise
I picked up both for $5 bucks each back when they had that sale and even then I feel I payed too much.
I don't know if I'd even take 'em both for free. I remember watching some clips online back when the DVD's were originally released, and it was plain to see that this wasn't even B or C or D grade cinema... this was Z grade crud.
Death Nurse 2 is worse. How is that possible?
Slasher just teased the imminent announcement of a title on Facebook. Honestly? Only going to be excited for a Satan's Blade type release. More SOV and beta cam quality stuff ain't doing it for me.
