Wow - what a difference! The AB DVD is a blurry mess compared to Shout's new transfer. Really stoked for this.

Dang that looks sweet! I'm still gonna hold onto my Red Cross kit (original) after I upgrade. We did confirm that this Blu-Ray in fully uncut right? If so, I can ditch my Legacy Entertainment disc.

Wow that's an incredible difference. The second last screencap (the one of Angela), on the DVD it looks like they're shining a light onto the right side of her face. On the blu-ray that's gone. Looks like they actually did restore the film from the negative. I'm really impressed. This, Prom Night and Curtains were probably my most-wanted horror titles on blu-ray and they all got beautiful restorations. Those Sleepaway Camp shots look GORGEOUS. Such lush colors and the framing is a lot nicer. I have a feeling that watching it in HD is gonna be like seeing the film for the first time.

To think we're finally getting beautiful restorations of so many lost/obscure films. Movies like Without Warning, The Final Terror, Curtains and Prom Night are finally going to be released in editions that are watchable.

Great job on Sleepaway Camp, Like Ronnie I'm no huge fan of this. I didn't get to see it till it hit DVD in the Red Cross boxset so it doesn't have that nostalgia factor that all the other classic films from that period have. Might give it another chance though.

Now The Final Terror and Evilspeak on the other hand......

Man, I never do pre-orders, but I just did one for Sleepaway Camp. I try to watch that movie every 4th of July, and I wanted to have this Blu-Ray for this year's viewing. I've said it before, they really get the 70s upstate NY summer camp look and feel right. Moreso than other camp movies like Friday the 13th or Meatballs. Even though I friggin hated going to those camps, it's just so rare that a film can bring such a realistic memory so well. Although there were no serial killers, nor anything like the movie's final scene at my particular camp....

Yeah I get what you mean. I ended up going camping with friends a few years ago in upstate NY, just outside Buffalo. Something seemed familiar and I couldn't figure out what it was. It ended up being only miles from where The Burning was filmed. Honestly not much has changed. They all have that similar feel, I guess seeing as how these films were all made in relatively the same location, during the same time period. I always found The Burning and Sleepaway Camp to have a similar camp feel to them.

Hmm, capsaholic shows the running time as 1:24:50 for the Sleepaway Camp Blu-ray. I'd have to check to be sure, but that seems pretty much what the old Anchor Bay DVD was.

I thought the Unrated cut was at least 3-4 minutes longer? :eek2:

I thought it was a matter of seconds. Just a few quick shots here and there.
