Ok, Heres my little take, never even heard of this movie till spring of 85 me and my friend and brother caught it on the MOVIE CHANNEL (remember that!) By this point it was already like 3 years old. Irecalled seeing it from the part where the nosey neighbor is killed, then we knew it was a horror movie so we watched it till the end.. I remember thinking it was pretty violent at the time. I always liked the part where russ thorn came in the back bedroom window and snuck up behind the girls.. Then after that one viewing on cable i forgot about it. Then in september of 1990, i worked at west coast video and we got to take home movies for free, so i took home slumber party massacre and decided to check it out again, I never really seen the beginning. I watched it and thought how dated it looked. It was shot in 81, now 9 years later alot of ealry 80's horror was starting to show their age by 1990.. However it was ok. Now i own the shout factory dvd. Its still just ok. it has some effective scenes, I always wondered why they changed the title in the opening credits on the dvd. Or the design of the title.. The print they used was the best its ever looked, but still had flaws. like grain from time to time..Anyway, you can tell it was filmed in 1981, cause when the 2 sisters are talking in one scene , in the back of them is a 1981 planner on the wall, and a calender looks like it says July 1981.
