First I've heard of this and it looks pretty good.
Looks interesting. Is the killer decapitating people ala Argento's TRAUMA ,a similar contraption ?
Looks pretty thrilling. I've never read the books by Jo Nesbo--the detective's name always cracked me up ("Harry Hole")--but will check this out.
Did anyone here see this? Is it as terrible as the reviews are saying? I was thinking about catching it on $5 Tuesday, but the reviews have scared me off.
Also, Harry Hole! Hahahahaha!
I'm planning on seeing this tomorrow. I don't usually read reviews as I don't want any more spoilers than the trailer gives away.
It sounds like the director of this movie is even saying that it is not very good. Something about budget cuts or time constraints didn't allow him to properly finish the movie. I thought it looked good, but so far everything I have read seems to really hate the film. I will probably check it out eventually but kind of a let down as cool as it looked from the trailers.
Getting destroyed in reviews. Not gonna bother outside of a viewing on a plane. Bummer.
Saw this today with a very small crowd (around six other people). I won't say it's a bad film but it is rather long and slow. It reminded me of a TV cop show except that it was around two hours long. I didn't know that Val Kilmer and Chloe Sevigny were part of the cast but both had rather small roles. Could have been much better.
Will probably pick up the DVD that comes out Jan 16 I liked the trailer and usually these types of films.
So do I, but I would recommend waiting for a sale. It's not all that good. Not a disaster like all the negative reviews would make you expect, but fairly unsatisfying. It felt like a wasted opportunity.
Went ahead and got the bluray today at Walmart along with Blade Runner 2049 and Happy Death Day blurays they also had the skyline sequel but passed on that one. Anyhow looking forward to checking out The Snowman!
I watched it this afternoon, and didn't think it was the abomination that the critics suggest. It's just your typical serial killer thriller. If you enjoyed movies like Taking Lives, Suspect Zero, The Bone Collector, etc then there's no reason you shouldn't enjoy it. That said, like all of those movies, I doubt I'd ever watch it again (especially with the two-hour running time). It's pretty much in one ear and out the other.
Which reminds me, there's a similar-looking movie from a while ago called Whiteout that I own on blu-ray and never watched. I'll have to dig that out and give it a spin while there's still snow on the ground.
