So Sweet, So Dead ~ "Italian Genre Cinema Collection" No. 3!

Discussion in 'Euro Horror' started by CameraObscura, Oct 21, 2009.

  1. No way of obtaining better source material ANYWHERE. We tried for months and nothing came up. We settled for the insertion of VHS material. All in all it's about a minute of footage in two scenes.

I don't know for sure but I assume they would as they carried Terror Express and Vase de Noces, 2 other Camera Obscura releases. Another stateside place that has carried past Camera Obscura releases is Boulevard Movies so maybe they will carry this as well.

Oh yeah, I know. Over there at dvd-forum the shots are compressed to death. Still they give a good impression of what to expect.
Thanks for the link by the way.

Nowhere. I already searched all the corners of the internet with the first two releases. With this one it's no different.
Seriously, this title is around the 24 Euro mark everywhere. But with added postage etc this will be around 30 Euro or even more. The one @ Diabolik will cost me around 35 Euro.
The easiest way if you're in Belgium, would be OMG.

And no, I haven't ordered this one yet. I need to do that soon!

BTW it says out of stock at Diabolik right now. Might want to snatch this up as soon as possible.

Watched half of this last night. Picture quality is great on this at times very atmospheric giallo. And it has one of my fav girls from the genre , Femi Benussi ... well next to Fenech anyway ;) Expect wall to wall nudity and sleaze here - I'll give a better report when I'm done watching this...but trust me , you need this.

I got to check this out a few weeks ago and I was pretty impressed, it's probably the best DVD I bought so far all year; it really looks great and is a must own if you're into this sort of thing, imo! As for the female cast it's got my favorite too (albeit in a small role, iirc), Susan Scott (Nieves Navarro). :]
Can't wait for the next few Camera Obscura releases! (La Orca, Death in Haiti, and Inferno (BD), I believe)

Ordered from OMG Entertainment and today I noticed that Absurd Online also has enough in stock.

Just finished watching it, including the Gaslini interview (great to finally hear the man speak!).

What a nice solid thriller this was. I recently rewatched "Strip Nude ..." and actually was expecting something along that line. So I was pleasently surprised to see how a great director Montero is/ was.
The whole film has this Noir-ish feel. A bit like Di Leo's work.
I could write enough about this, but you just have to watch it.
Recommended to those who would enjoy:

"Blood and Black Lace" meets "Black Belly of the Tarantula" meets "Slaughter Hotel" .

That's all you have to know :D

The DVD is excellent as well. Picture and sound are both very good. Although I noticed some artefacting during the elevator scene. Still, for a movie this rare I don't really care. Some inserts were used: some full frontal scenes with Nieves Navarro and some dialog. Nothing really spectacular but nevertheless nice they're included.
For the fans of more nudity, watch the Cineromanza which is included as extra. Only watched a few minutes myself, but it's very good and a very unique extra.

Overall I'm very happy to add this to my collection.
But ofcourse you all know I'm a[IMG] :D
