Years ago I rented this movie and enjoyed it.
Then I read about the pig fucking and masturbation scenes and I couldn't remember those.I sure as hell woul have if they were in that cut.
It appears to be I watched the EC Entertainment disc, where these two scenes are cut.I don't mind because the scenes add nothing to the film (same ofcourse can be said about the animal cruelty).
I still have to buy this movie and if I do I'll buy the EC disc (or the recent Dutch one).

Bestiality is now forbidden here here in Holland.Even the posession of such material will cost you at least three years.

DVDActive has a not-so-good review up of Jess Franco's Cannibals.

Here's the link to the article, which also includes screenshots and a hilarious photo montage of Sabrina Siani's ever-consistent facial makeup: http://www.dvdactive.com/reviews/dvd/cannibals.html

I believe Bill Lustig even commented in a recent interview that Jesus Franco himself thought it was a terrible movie and that he only did it for the money. Why BU would release it when Lustig's been bitching about how nothing is worth putting out any more is beyond me; perhaps just to prove his own point?

Even still, I wouldn't be the man I am standing before you if I didn't want to own it.

I saw on Dvdaf that Blue Underground will be re-releasing these Anchor Bay titles on 4/29/08:

    Delirium (1972)
    Hitch-Hike (1977)
    New York Ripper (1982)
    Nightmare City (1980)

AFAIK, these were already anamorphic releases in the AB versions. It's funny that they are re-releasing New York Ripper, which came out 9 years ago, with nothing new added most likely.

I've already got Hitch-Hike, New York Ripper & Nightmare City. Bummer. I want NEW stuff, not re-releases.

Yeah, it baffles me that they have these key titles like DEEP RED, NEW YORK RIPPER, INFERNO, DON'T TORTURE A DUCKLING, and SHOCK, and yet they still can't be bothered to make them into proper anamorphic special editions. Them doing a second special edition of CIRCLE OF IRON instead makes it pretty tough to be sympathetic for the little guy when their business decisions seem so misguided.

It would be nice if they released new transfers of non-anamorphic AB titles, but apparently that is too much effort.

And to top it off, I don't think the "new" Circle of Iron transfer is actually better than the old DVD. It actually looks less sharp and lacking in detail truthfully. I don't understand exactly why they altered the aspect ratio either.

    Uhhh...define broke. :D

Yeah, and correct the mistakes they made as well....
Torso (zoomed in),Suspiria (audio),Deep Red (freeze frame),Tenebre (cut),New York Ripper (scenes at the wrong place) and some other titles too I guess....

Well, the cover art for New York Ripper is the same as the Anchor Bay release, with a quote from this site.

I'm guessing no extras, which is sad. I'd love a commentary track and new interviews with Almanta Keller-Suska (Fay Majors).

Oh snap, a HorrorDVDs quote! I should buy it for that alone, even though I have the AB version.

Success! That's awesome, it's about time the Blue started to pimp out our reviews. Congrats Jer, that's quite the distinction!

That is awesome! I missed a lot of these titles the first time around so I'm definitely going to scoop them up this time.
