"dont fear the reaper" was also covered by gus(i think) for "scream" which is a kickass soundtrack

Probably an obvious one here, I guess, but I'd think The Damned would be a great choice of a band for this sort of thing. "Curtain Call", "Sanctum Sanctorum", "The Portrait"... in fact, a LOT of their music would be great in a horror movie. :)

Just popped in the Anything CD and "The Portrait" would be best used in a good ghost or supernatural story, definitely. It's got a wistful quality about it that makes it perfect for that sort of thing. Check 'em out on Kazaa if you don't own them already.

Which, of course, was a tribute to B.O.C.'s "Don't Fear the Reaper" being used in a little film called HALLOWEEN. ;)

Another suggestion: "Scared" by Dangerous Toys

I think that Platinum Blonde Life by No Doubt has horror movie written all over it. It sounds like it should be played in a chase scene or something. Any song with the lyrics

is going to end up in a horror movie, it is destiny.

I always thought Eve 6's (I hate them btw) Nightmare would be perfect for a Scream/ISKWYDLS teeny horror kinda movie :eek2:

Don't Fear the Reaper is also used over the closing credits of The Frighteners, although it's a cover version by a no name band, but it's not too shabby.

I think old songs from like the 50's and 60's fit well with a horror film. I guess Night of the Creeps made me feel this way. Last night I heard this song, old country kinda song. I think it was called "Young Love" or something like that. It would fit well with the closing credits of a vampire type thing. Or something where there is a twist at the end and the film just ends abruptly. :)

Is that because it plays over the image of Michael Myers burning at the end of Halloween II?
