I know new / straight-to-video movies aren't exactly popular around here, but just curious if anyone had seen this yet or plans to check it out?

It was released on DVD by Starz / Anchor Bay this week. I just got mine in the mail, will hopefully be watching it tonight. Looks like it could be trashy fun. Could also be awful, but I've always thought Anchor Bay has generally good taste in regards to the indies they acquire.

    I rented it yesterday...

It was okay, but also kind of annoying. For one thing some of the scenes seem to drag on forever. And the opening scene is practically a word-for-word ripoff from Scream. It does have a ton of plot twists near the end, but many were just rather silly. The film reminded me somewhat of Girls Gone Dead, but not nearly as fun. And by the end it just felt like it could have been so much better.

I'd say it's worth a rental, but probably not a blind buy.

This was a major disappointment. The opening scene was fun, if they had stayed with that tone this could have been a fun little slasher movie. The humor was really hokey and the whole thing was bogged down with the police officers. Should have been about 20 minutes shorter. The multiple killer reveals towards the end make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Definitely not the fun straight-to-video slasher I was hoping for. I wish filmmakers would stop treating the subgenre as a punchline and just make a fun straight-forward slasher flick.

Hercules has one scene about five minutes into the movie. That's pretty much it.

The horror genre is dead once again, and has been for a while.
I´m getting flashbacks from the horrible 90:s ;)

Remember the good old days, when they made movies about sorority girls, cheerleaders etc that actually was likable, and wasn´t just a bunch of bitchy porno sluts?

But that´s basically the horror genre today. Forget the likable characters and let everybody be a douchbag or a bitch.

How the hell are you gonna be able too root for anyone to survive, when you want them all to die within the first 5 minutes? :D
