I'll go with Shock Waves just for that unsettling score...Moreau was quite good though.

I very much enjoy both, but Shock Waves definitely has the edge here. Interesting story, great sense of atmosphere, and as mentioned above - a pretty brilliant soundtrack. Very effective film despite the low budget involved. I love the music enough to have bought the cd soundtrack when it was released earlier this year.

I was pretty obsessed with Moreau back when it came out, probably due to all the coverage in Famous Monsters, but I'm going with Shock Waves.

The Island of Dr. Moreau (1977) I love love love this movie. The remake was not as bad as some say I quite enjoyed it.

I enjoy ISLAND but find SHOCK WAVES to be the creepier film. It's one of the most unique of the post NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD/pre DAWN OF THE DEAD zombie films. I saw the newly restored digital version in a theater last month and it was a real treat.

Definitely SHOCK WAVES. Saw DR. MOREAU and forgot it. SHOCK WAVES stuck with me long after seeing it. Very creepy. The best version of MOREAU is without a doubt ISLAND OF LOST SOULS.
