I read the review, but I'm so burnt out on the Romero thing. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE ME some zombie movies. But the things I hear about this one make me not want to give the time. What did yinz think?

I really enjoyed SOTD, but I guess I'm in the minority. It's nowhere near the level of any of the original three dead movies, but I don't think it was nearly as bad as some are making it out to be. Give it a spin. Although I myself read and respect the opinions of other people, I draw my own conclusions.

You're not missing much if you skip it.

I enjoyed it, and think it's worth at least a rental. Just don't go into it expecting a Romero masterpiece and you might have a good time. It wasn't nearly as bad as I've seen commented elsewhere, but beware of the CGI gore! :nervous:

If you are a fan of the other dead films, then yes. That's not a garauntee that you will like it. I am very lukewarm towards it. However, it is not a terrible movie in any respect... anyone who tells you that it is is likely just upset that it failed to meet lofty expectactations. However, it is definitely not on par with the classic dead films. I find it to be the worst of the three recent dead films but still far better than your typically zombie film.

It's not great, but I'm sure you've spent time and money on worse zombie movies this year already.

Not as bad as everyone says, it's alot better than Diary.

I think it's the weakest of his Dead entries but it's still enjoyable enough. As everyone else has stated, just go in with the proper expectations and it'll be worth your time for at least one viewing.

It's definitely worth a rental. It's a smaller scale, smaller budget, etc. so like everyone here says, don't expect the classic Romero zombie film.

I thought it was kind of "Hatfields vs. McCoys" with zombies. Interesting ideas, but poorly executed.

I was wondering the same exact thing its on my instant Q and I just don't know if I should waste the time. I love night, dawn and day and even thought land was pretty good but Diary made me want to puke for some reason so I'm not really too amped for Survival.

I like it, but can understand why others don't. Personally, I think it's about on par with Land of the Dead but with a smaller budget which unfortunately necessitated use of CGI. It's waaaayyyy better than Diary. And yeah, put Romero's original trilogy out of your mind as you watch Survival. Of course it doesn't live up to those movies, but then I'm not sure it was ever intended to.

I'm going to rent it soon. I have just returned DIARY of the DEAD to Netflix and I liked it. I've liked all the Romero living dead films thus far.
