I've only seen the 3rd Violent Shit film but I remember enjoying the hell out of it despite it being...well....SHIT.

Definitely getting the collection to see the other films (and the chance to rewatch 3 in 16x9 widescreen)

I've seen video reviews for the series and they really do look shit lol. Guess they're at least true to the name.. Violent and Shit! Easy pass.

I find it odd that Synapse is putting this out.

I don't think its odd or out of line at all. They've always released lots of obscure, bizarre, or lesser known/appreciated titles from all over the world; Lucker the Necrophagous is the closest example that'd be similar to the Violent Shit films (SOV gorefest) that they've put out on the past. I mean, Synapse has films like Entrails of a Virgin, Moriturus: Legions of the Dead, Animalada, Battle Girl: The Living Dead at Tokyo Bay, Death of a Snowman, The Image, Rosarigasinos, etc. etc. So their catalog is and always has been eclectic.

I really wish that Synapse would give Evil Dead Trap the 2K or 4K treatment.
The old non-anamorphic dvd doesn't look so hot these days.

Not exactly sure what to meant by that but yeah, I said what said and meant it. It is a release that I feel is beneath Synapse.

I do like your reply if it was sarcastic as I am one of many opinions.

You don't need to explain a thing to Twister or anyone else on this board.

    Just be yourself.

Good point there. I tend to overlook those titles. I am ashamed to say that I have not checked out Lucker yet even though it appears to be up my alley. I think I procrastinated as it sounds like a cheaper version of stuff I like as in a cheaper Maniac. Anyway, will check this out this weekend. What I was trying to say is basically given May's ability, he could be working on such better stuff. Not to dog on anyone's taste for the really low grade fare. I do dabble in that area as well, after all.

Don got a rash of shit when he announced that Synapse was releasing Lucker. It was the usual 'Why are you guys wasting your time with that garbage?' stuff. Me? I pre-ordered it and am happy to have it. The doc on the production history alone was enough for me, as well as the work done in reconstructing the new print. Yes, it's a somewhat dull, but is grungy and gross enough to warrant a buy.

Don had the last laugh: Lucker was one of their best sellers that year.

Some horror fans these days can be selfish little boogers. They act like a company should release only titles they like and screw others.

They're not forcing you to buy the title so move on and spend your cash elsewhere.

Does anyone know if Synapse is still planning to release Creature from Black Lake on blu? There was an announcement in late 2015, but I can't find any updates. Thanks in advance.

I think I read they couldn't find suitable elements.

Thanks, CPT HOOK. Damn. That was my fear. Yet another 70s sasquatch flick destined to look like balls until the end of time...

Dean Cundey shot this one. It would be nice to see it show up in reasonable quality at some point.

Don May, Jr. is the feature guest on Episode 51 of the Shock Waves podcast. He comes in around the 50 minute mark.

Phenomena gets a retail release and The Creep Behind The Camera comes to Blu-ray and DVD!:

    http://www.rue-morgue.com/single-po...of-CREEPs-are-coming-to-Synapse-Films-Blu-ray

"Retail price is $39.95. In THE CREEP BEHIND THE CAMERA, Schuermann tells the story of the true monster behind THE CREEPING TERROR: its director/star Vic Savage (a.k.a. A.J. Nelson), an abusive, manipulative con man whose behind-the-scenes actions were far more frightening than anything that wound up in his movie. The Blu-ray will exclusively include an all-new 2K scan of THE CREEPING TERROR, and both that and the DVD will include:

    • Audio commentary by director Pete Schuermann, producer Nancy Theken and stars Josh Phillips and Jodi Lynn Thomas

    • “The Making of THE CREEP BEHIND THE CAMERA”

    • “How to Build a Carpet Monster”

    • “Breaking Down Art’s Death Scene”

    • Monster movie homages

    • “One Mick to Another” with Byrd Holland and Allan Silliphant

    • Deleted scenes

    • Alternate ending

    • Screamfest Black Carpet Q&A with Frank Conniff

    • THE CREEP BEHIND THE CAMERA original theatrical trailer

Don gave a short interview with Bloody Disgusting and gave some of their post-Suspiria plans:
    http://bloody-disgusting.com/reviews/3453150/suspiria-restored-4k-perfect/

Now we're going to be hearing endlessly about this "great 80s horror" until doomsday I suppose. ;)
