Just give me Massacre at Central High!
Honestly. I've wanted this one for years. I've NEVER seen a good quality version so Synapse needs to get a move on!
The VHS looks like a car ran over it and the DVD was clearly pulled from that. I saw those stills of the new transfer and they looked amazing. Really love the film, though it is an odd duck.
Could it be The Kindred?
People have asked for that, for many years now.
But...no... that would be too good to be true
It is the Kindred! Just announced on Facebook!
And... I scooped zbinks. How did that happen??!?
Links or it didn't happen!
From Don May Jr.'s mouth: "“Almost ten years later, I can now say that, yes, we are doing The Kindred, finally, for 2018. While we didn’t spend four years restoring it, it took us ten years to get out of all the legal mess to finally announce it again, ten years later. I could probably write a book as to what happened with The Kindred. [Laughs] We’ll do The Kindred on Blu-ray and DVD, because honestly it’s never been legally available on Blu-ray or DVD in the U.S. So, we’ll be the first company to actually release it.”
When Don said it was an 80's horror that fans had been waiting for, I think most of us probably expected The Kindred. I did, at least. Exciting news! It's such a great little monster movie.
I've gotta work... sometimes.
Popcorn has finally dropped to a reasonable price point, $22.99 at Amazon.
Cinema Arcana reports that HOT DOG: The Movie (1984) is coming from Synapse.
Suspiria arrived today. Beautiful package.
Got mine today too from Diabolik. I am a happy camper!
Mine arrived as well. Now I'm waiting for the 4K import.
Mine’s been in pre-shipment for 4 days yay!
Honestly what the fuck though...
Mine did the same. Clearly, they print the labels several days before they actually drop the damn things off.
I’m actually getting seriously annoyed by this. I paid fucking $17 for shipping, if this ends up taking 2 weeks I might as well have paid the bare minimum for standard shipping. Except $17 was the only option. So I paid expensive shipping costs for an item that takes a week to arrive (roughly) only for them to sit on the order for a week waiting to ship it.
This is pretty bad business practice, considering they said the orders would be shipped out in the order that they were received.
The disconnect between actual shipping time and label creation is definitely ridiculous. I typically see a day or 2 with Amazon marketplace sellers, but 4 days or more is inexcusable--especially if you had to pay that much to ship to Canada. Have you reached out to Synapse? Don is obviously a guy who cares about quality, and this is ultimately a reflection on him. It might be worth a shot.
CAV is shipping them, not Synapse, so you'd want to shift your questions on shipping to CAV Distribution (which Don May Jr. specified and provided contact info for in a post about shipping of the Suspiria Blu-rays on Facebook when Synapse announced they'd be shipping). But seeing as Matt's order (and mine) were only set up for shipment labels via First Class International (7 to 21 days delivery window) on Friday it's entirely possible they may not actually have gone out in the mail until the weekend or even Monday (yesterday) depending on when they were dropped off or picked up by USPS for actually going out in the post, as who knows if CAV is a 7-day a week operation or a Monday to Friday workplace. This isn't necessarily bad business practice, just reality of hours of business operations/normal shipping delays depending on what day of the week an order is processed. And even then, it could just be that the Stamps.com shipping info isn't up to date (which I personally find happens a lot with international orders I've placed). I get you want your order (I'm stoked to get mine too), but mail isn't just teleported.
My tracking number was blank forever, then in Santa Monica. So maybe you int'l people won't have to wait too long.
Well I’m not gonna contact Synapse since they’re not the ones shipping it out. I have no problem with Synapse, it’s CAV that fucking sucks. We were told they would ship out in order and that’s clearly not what happened, so yeah it is bad business actually. And there are several people on Blu-ray.com who have received Suspiria damaged from CAV with a slashed spine on the steelbook due to their staff slicing into them with box cutters. Considering what people paid for this, that’s...pretty bad.
A friend of mine is getting me the Demons steelbook for Xmas. It shipped from Synapse last Thursday and arrived today. So the issue is with CAV. They just sit on orders for days and days before they ship them out.
Seems like choosing CAV to distribute these was maybe a bad idea on Synapse’s part. I know they’re like a 2-man operation and that’s totally understandable. I’m just not too pleased with CAV right now.
