Progress report on many of their upcoming titles: https://rue-morgue.com/exclusive-sy...he-kindred-massacre-at-central-high-and-more/
A great read. Great to hear that the kindred will be a longer cut and has some great extras. Disappointed to read that the restoration is still in its infancy stages. Maybe Halloween 2021 we can have it..........maybe?
Detailed screen comparisons are up for The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue: https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?d1=14609&d2=14608&c=5614 The old BU Blu-ray looks pretty smudgy in comparison.
Yeah, the old blu-ray was a huge disappointment. The use of DNR on that one is weird, since it's mostly the darker parts of the image, that is affected, while the brighter still show some grain. Those dark scenes were a mess. Happy that it finally got a proper remaster, though I'm not happy about the price, so I will continue to wait for a standard release.
Yeah hopefully someone here in the UK will pick it up (88 film or Arrow). Until then I'll stick with what I have.
My local Bull Moose has it in store, but for $60. I don’t get that. What did they have to do, by it direct from the Synapse website like any other customer? I’d love to support a local business, but a $10 increase on an already overpriced blu ray? Come on...
A couple February 9th, 2011, Nikkatsu porno titles are now available direct from Impulse Picture's website: Flower and Snake https://impulse-pictures.com/product/flower-and-snake-blu-ray/ Zoom Up: Murder Site https://impulse-pictures.com/product/zoom-up-murder-site-blu-ray/ It seems funny to me that people who buy from Synapse Films' repertoire would object to the Impulse Pictures, necessitating its own website, but there you have it.

Is Massacre at Central High worth a blind buy? I haven't seen it since my horror VHS trading days about 30 years ago and don't remember it being anything special but it seems to be quite highly regarded by some. Normally I'd just download a copy for a watch first but can't seem to find any version of it.
Like you I haven't seen the film in several decades. Since this is a limited release it is likely that if you decide you don't want to keep it you can probably resell for close to or more than what you paid.
I haven't seen Massacre at CH ever but have heard conflicting thoughts where some seem to think it's great and others say it's pretty whatever. I think I'll need to find a download to watch first myself.
Wow this has been in the works so long I never thought it would actually happen. The trailer looks gorgeous:
Damn, well that trailer was far more interesting than I was expecting. Colour me interested, though probably not at that steelbook price.
That's one hell of a spoiler filled trailer Saw it on VHS, about 30 years ago. I was disappointed, as I expected it to be a typical high school slasher. After seeing the trailer, I think I need to give it another chance. But as usual, I'll wait for the standard edition.
I think the fact that it doesn't look like a typical high school slasher and seems character focused is what has me interested haha. I'm a sucker for a good revenge story too, and this seems to have that going on.
