That's what I'm thinking too. That's crazy money. I used to feel bad spending $30 on a dvd and I rarely did that.

I'd pay that price for that VHS now in that condition!

AWESOME!!! Can´t wait to finally see this with a superb transfer.

I would kill for Synapse to give "Hell Night" this kind of a treatment.

Thrilled this is coming out and I'll get it day one. But does anyone else think the artwork looks "off"? The light blue background just looks wrong somehow. I know they need contrast between the mask and the background but even a darker blue-gray would have looked better. I see that the original poster had a similar color background but you didn't see quite as much as on the cover above; they all zoomed into the masked face more. Maybe I'm just used to the almost all-black covers of the various DVD releases.

A minor quibble. I'm one who thinks all these classic 80s movies look "wrong" in their Bluray cases - like the new hi-def technology is at odds with the simple, low-budget filmmaking from back then.

Yeah the original poster was a nice teal color. I'm just glad they didn't apply that stupid scratchy-scratchy/distressed parchment layer to it!

Like I said, I think I've just gotten used to the black Anchor Bay cover over the years. If you google image search the original poster, there seem to be a lot of variations on background color. Some may be due to aging. I think the biggest difference is that the old versions were so close on the masked face that you didn't see much of the background to notice the color anyway.

Anyway, it's hardly a dealbreaker or anything. I just wondered if anyone else noticed the difference. I'm more grateful they didn't use that cartoon Jamie Lee Curtis cover that was used for awhile.

Yeah, I really love that cover. It seems more scary/creepy because the killer's eyes are hidden in the darkness. The killer's head/mask is blended with the black background. I still have that Anchor Bay DVD and will be keeping it just because I don't want to part with that cover.

However, all said and done, the Synapse cover is excellent too. Hell, I even love the Echo Bridge DVD cover with Jamie Lee Curtis. (and will be keeping that one too!)

and then there was that horrible DVD release from Platinum in 2004. 1.33:1 open-matte and a transfer as black as the Anchor Bay DVD cover. It was so dark you couldn't see anything. Unwatchable. It was like a fourth generation VHS master. How that POS made it past quality control????

    Even the cover was garbage...
