I haven't got a clue who owns the rights now to be honest. Shame that some of these 80s slashers will never get a proper release. That is why I can not wait for Dorm!

Foller, I saw that DVD. Not sure what quality is like on it but I would like a proper version released in widescreen. One can always hope!

I'd love Silent Madness in a full cut, 2D and 3D 2-disc Special Edition. Sweet! :D

There was also a R2 DVD released by U9ON/Bellevue Entertainment released in Scandinavia. It's also fullscreen and Dolby 2.0. The disc has optional Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Swedish, and Norwegian subtitles.

Thats completely understandable. Im a big supporter and will continue to throw money your way. When you bring out your blus ill support those to. I know i sound like a kiss ass but more people need to support companies like yours. I mean does anyone really think someone like Sony would put that much TLC into a movie like this? HELL NO!

Great news. This slasher gets shit on a lot, but I love it. I've always thought that Laurie Lapinski was one of the better final girls too, both attractive and appealing. It's a pity she didn't do anything else following this.

I might be wrong about this, perhaps they only got specific films, but doesn't DISNEY own rights to the Roger Corman library now? It seems like I had read that new versions of 3-4 of his 70's films were being released, and that they were coming from Disney--or at least ultimately Disney was the parent company of the label they were going under...

No, Disney just distributed some of the Corman titles for a brief period of time. They released some DVD versions, but they weren't in print all that long and Disney no longer holds the rights.

Shout! Factory has licensed a lot of the Corman library and will be re-releasing some releases as well as putting out unreleased on DVD stuff.

Yup. Anchor Bay released most of the stuff that New World had, but there were a few stragglers that as-yet, have never received a DVD release, including...

    Ghost Town (1988)
    Evil Town (1987)
    Ghost Riders (1987)
    Roller Blade (1986)
    Zombie Nightmare (1986)
    No Retreat, No Surrender (1986)
    Torment (1986)
    Uphill All the Way (1986)
    The Peanut Butter Solution (1985)
    Grunt! The Wrestling Movie (1985)
    Appointment with Fear (1985)
    Breaking All the Rules (1985)
    Delivery Boys (1985)
I Like to Hurt People (1985)
    The Annihilators (1985)
    The Prey (1984)
Warlords of the 21st Century (1982)
    Tag: The Assassination Game (1982)
    Murder by Phone (1982)
    Galaxy of Terror (1981)
    Saturday the 14th (1981)
    The Bees (1978)
    The Evil (1978)
    Deadly Harvest (1977)

Of course, some are still owned by Corman, while others (I'm thinking Murder by Phone and The Bees) are owned by Warner Bros. Seems like I remember reading that Galaxy of Terror is at MGM.

Not to mention that Code Red has the rights to Zombie Nightmare and are releasing the DVD which I don't know when it's coming out (hopefully this year). Incidentally, Galaxy of Terror is now with Shout! Factory.

Saturday the 14th and the sequel both got releases from New Concorde and Shout! announced Galaxy Of Terror for later this year.

Yeh and when is Code Red's The Mutilator coming out? I would LOVE the prey (1984) on DVD as well as curtains (1983) and most of all killer party (1986) Please someone get the rights? Or does anyone know who owns them? Anyone else like these films?

Someone mentioned earlier about Silent Madness. Not only would I love to see that in a deluxe edition, but it would be great to hear about how bestselling author Nelson Demille (The General's Daughter) recieved a screenwriter credit!!!! You can slmost see where the Demille scenes are and where the slasher parts start.

Maybe I'm thinking of another movie, but wasn't there a novelization and soundtrack LP release for PRANKS as well? Any chance of seeing these incorporated into the upcoming release?

My Hide And Go Shriek VHS is from New Star Video, not New World.

Were the other upcoming Synapse DVDs announced yet? I've been dying to know what they will be!

Yeah. I am dying to know what the others are.

I wonder if Nightmares (Stage Fright 1980) will be one. Australia got a release last year in its aspect ratio. It looks nice. Idk why I pictured Synapse with the flick...I think it might have to do with the Patrick and Strange Behavior re-release discs.
