While watching Tenebrae again (what a fine movie this is :D), I noticed something peculiar. I haven't read or heard anything about it yet.

During the shoplifting scene with (a hot!) Ania Pieroni, you can hear the people in the background talking Italian. That's no big deal, we're in Rome after all.

But.. later on in the movie, during the studio interview with John Steiner, you can hear the people in the background speaking FRENCH!
Now, can anyone explain THAT?? AFAIK this wasn't a French/ Italian co-production.

It's on both my AB and A-Film discs, which are said to be from different sources (true, judging by the differences).

I haven't checked the Italian track on the AB DVD yet, though.

    My god...
I believe Crystal Plumage is the one of the greatest fans of Dario Argento.

I?m also a big fan of his work for some 25 years now but never noticed that thing in the audio background, maybe that?s because I only enjoy the movies for what they are.

But hey, don?t get me wrong, It?s good to have someeone to notice that things.

Don?t mind me asking, is the 2 disk version of inferno already out?

are you sure its intentional, crystal plumage? do you know if tenebrae was shot with sound, or without? it could be that they just randomly chose a sound of crowd noise to lay into the background, and didn't pay any attention to the language.

We would only know if someone could in fact translate it.
It's nearly inaudible on the Italian track btw. But it's still in French.

Peter Neal is supposed to have interviews with various journalists from around the world in that scene afterwards. That's what i think that happens. Or it may have to do with Argento's "sci-fi" concept of Tenebrae (he has declared that on several occasions).
