I just stumbled upon a new Amityville movie!
I have heard nothing about this, but it has Burt Young and Diane Franklin (who played the daughter in Amityville 2, now playing the mother in the family) in the cast.

It's probably crap, but still, I got two hours to waste tonight :D

Doesn't look half bad and I love the Diane Franklin and Burt Young cameos. I imagine there are much worse movies with Amityville in the title out there.

Well, it wasn't that bad at all.
It was better than I expected. And there was some effective creepy moments in there.
The acting was also pretty good at times, even though there are some rough spots in there.
Sadly Diane Franklin seems to have most of her dialogue dubbed in post production, which hurts her performance :(

It does feel like a remake of Amityville 2 at times, though it IS based on the same story.
The dad in the family is such an brutal asshole, that Burt Young's character in Amityville 2, seems like the worlds greatest dad in comparison :D

The interiors are pretty close to the ones in the first two movies, but sadly, they had to use a CGI model for some of the exterior shots of the house.
But compared to most other shitty DTV Amityville movies, that don't even feature the original house, I rather take a half decent CGI recreation.

Nowhere near as good as Amityville 2, of course, but compared to 95% of the shitty DTV "sequels", this still felt like a proper Amityville movie.
Though keep your expectations in check ;)

I'll end up watching this because I've seen EVERY movie with Amityville in the title. And yes, most of them are awful.

    The Amityville Horror (1979)
    Amityville II: The Possession
    Amityville 3-D
    Amityville 4: The Evil Escapes
    The Amityville Curse
    Amityville 1992: It’s About Time
    Amityville: A New Generation
    Amityville Dollhouse
    The Amityville Horror (2005)
    The Amityville Haunting
    The Amityville Asylum
    Amityville Death House
    The Amityville Playhouse
    Amityville: Vanishing Point
    The Amityville Legacy
    The Amityville Terror
    Amityville: No Escape
    Amityville Exorcism
    Amityville: The Awakening

Damn, I didn't know about half of them in that list. After the Amityville 2005 remake, I have only watched Awakening and this new one.
But after watching this trailer, I'm glad I missed out on the rest of the micro budget "sequels" :D

Funny thing is...... I think the remake from 05 is the best film on this list!

I've always wanted to see The Amityville Curse, even though it's supposedly terrible. I remember the VHS being at every video store ever.

Aside from that, I've seen them all up to the remake, plus The Awakening. They're all fun to some extent, but II is by far the best.

With all the talk about the sequels here... they are playing Amityville: The Evil Escapes & Amityville 1992: It’s About Time as a double feature in select theaters on October 4th:

I'm planning on catching them at the Marcus multiplex tomorrow.

I already caught The House on Sorority Row last month, and look forward to Sweet Sixteen.

Amityville: Vanishing Point is one of only two movies I've given ZERO stars to, out of 3,649 reviews. The other is Return of the Boogeyman.

That said, I watched The Amityville Murders tonight and, to my surprise, I liked it. In fact, I'll call it the best of all the Amityville movies, and not just by default. It's a retelling of Amityville II that doesn't resort to as much corn, and the ending is pretty effective.

Picked it up on DVD today at Walmart for 9.96 since the bluray is a BDR.

I wish I had anything nice to say about this movie, but... I don't. His Sharon Tate movie was pretty wretched as well.

It has been a while since I saw this, but from what I remember every exterior shot in the movie was poorly done CGI.

Yeah this movie sucked. I didn't even end up making it to the end. I think it could have been better if it didn't feel so cheap. Unfortunately it feels like a bargain bin title.

Thought it was okay aside from the awful CGI shots. I wish we could of gotten Amityville Awakening R rated version with 13 minutes missing. I think I liked amityville murders better than the pg-13 saturated version of Awakening.
